Should woman, after marraige, change their last name to husbands last name?

One of the most ubiquitous practice across the globe, may it be a undeveloped or totally developed state...it has always been there. So obvious, that many of us didnt give it a thought. Now is the time.

I like that a family shares a last name, whether it is the man's, woman's or an entirely new last name is not important. It's not about property, it's just nice to say We're the Johnson's ... for instance.

Another solution could be that both take both names.

Doesn't really matter, does it? I don't think so. Whatever they think sounds best I guess.

Side: Yes

I think this practice is an antiquated custom. The wife should not be compelled to change her surname to that of the husband's.

My belief is that if you are going to get married, you should at least know how to spell marriage.

Side: Yes

It should be up to the couple, but the idea of having a man imprint his name on the woman does feel very much as though the woman is becoming his property. I personally think it's kind of creepy and sexist, but it's important to some women.

Side: No

Depends, which name sounds cooler? Always pick the cooler name.
