Socialism is the Democrat's old slave principle. You work. I eat.
Hello C:
It's true, socialISM doesn't work.. But socialISTIC programs like Medicare and your local fire department, work pretty well within a capitalist framework.

Those running the Democrat Party are pushing for the version that doesn't work.

Look.. Do yourself a favor... Step away from the FOX News. It's rotting your brain.

Senator Schumer has clear ties to three extreme organizations.
The Council for a Livable World, founded in 1962 by long-time socialist activist and alleged Soviet agent, Leo Szilard, is a non-profit advocacy organization that seeks to “reduce the danger of nuclear weapons and increase national security”, primarily through supporting progressive, congressional candidates who support their policies. The Council supported Charles E. Schumer in his initial successful Senate run as candidate for New York.
In 1997, Schumer was one of 33 co-sponsors of H.R. 950, the Job Creation and Infrastructure Restoration Act. The bill had originally been sponsored by Congressman Matthew Martinez at the request of over 50 prominent labor leaders – all of whom were known supporters or members of the Communist Party USA. The Communist party even delegated senior member Evelina Alarcon to oversee the bill’s progress.
In 1998 Schumer enjoyed electoral support from Communist Party breakaway group, Committees of Correspondence.
OMG!! Somebody voted for Schumer, and that MAKES him a commie???? He supported a bill that some labor leaders wanted and that too MAKES his a commie???
Dude! I mean really DUDE!!! Step away from the FOX News.. It's rotting your brain.

Schumer supports Communist groups. You seem to have left that part out.

Here are the facts on Pelosi that should have disbarred her from entering the US House of Representatives.
Pelosi holds an executive position in the Progressive Caucus, a subset of The Democratic Socialists of America, which is the US branch of Socialist International. Who and what are these groups?
The Socialist International carries the torch for Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, Vladimir Lenin, Leon Trotzky, and Josef Stalin. Pay no attention to the desperate attempts by socialists to distance themselves from Stalin. For our purposes, it is suffice to say that every single tenet of the Socialist International is the exact opposite of the principles upon which America was founded, and which define the U.S. Constitution.
Then we have the Democratic Socialists of America. As the U.S. arm of the Socialist International, they share the symbol of the fist holding the rose, and they share the tasks to be accomplished – in our case, an altogether different America.
This subversive group welds disproportionate power in the Democrats and therefore in US politics by means of The Progressive Caucus, founded in 1991 by Bernie Sanders, who almost won the party nomination.
The political philosophy known as Socialism, a cause the Progressive Caucus vigorously pursues, was devised to combat and prevail over Anglo-American principles, law, and economics. Every version of socialism, from Bolshevism to the mildest form of Social Democracy is fundamentally opposed to Anglo-American attitudes and the US Constitutional Republic.
The Trump Party runs their people. The people run the Democratic Party. I don't know of many people in the Democratic Party that want to be slaves. WE want what the "Grand Old Party" used to want until Gingrich, McConnell and Trump shredded it. It DID work then, Democrats are working to get it BACK. The Trump way will come to "You BETTER work, if you WANT to eat"! …. whether you are 90, have no legs, are suffering from cancer and can't afford the capitalists drug prices, whether you have no husband … and he left you with six kids … whatever! There are different kinds of slavery and if you ARE one, for whatever reason, you'd better be in a "socialistic society" or you AND your children will be "Trumped"! (Similar to being "Putinized")! :-(
No, Bernie's a good guy with good ideas, a bit radical, but good. The PEOPLE, and their representatives, thought (and were correct), that Hillary was the most qualified candidate and could beat Trump. She DID, by 3,000,000 votes. However, the Gerrymandering of the vote, BY the "controllers" of the conservative party, gave the win …. to the loser! She was in favor of MANY of Bernie's socialistic ideas.
The people that run the party then took to the streets in protest for most of the year, and, when the vote came up again, made SURE that the cons KNEW who was running the party.
You may now respond with the conservative play card answers, as repeated over and over, to the REAL slaves, by those "controllers".

None of those programs fit under the definition of socialism.
No it isn't. It isn't true at all. What is true is that, if you train people to live in a capitalist society for 400 years and then suddenly try to implement socialism in that same society, well then THAT probably isn't going to work.
It IS TRUE that you are another pig ignorant American who has been saturated with anti-Communist propaganda for your entire life and now, like most Americans, think you are an expert on the world without having ever left your home town.
Often the loudest professors of altruism want something from you.
The naïveté of socialism is in the notion that moral intuitions evolved for families and small groups are preferable for larger society. It is literally primitive.
And if any one person doesn’t “do their part” for the whole, either they are forced into action for the benefit of whole, or the whole is forced to act for the benefit of the free rider.
I work either to avoid poverty or to gain the capacity to have luxury. No other reason to work at all is valid unless I both feel that I no longer need to avoid poverty or seek luxury for the time being.
You're incorrect about both capitalism and socialism. Socialism is not merely teamwork (which has a profit motive). Capitalism is not merely profit motive (which often leads to teamwork). Both are more than your summary.
What you described was essentially teamwork as socialism and profit motive as capitalism. Is it not apparent that there is more to each than what you describe? Well, there is.
There are, for example, the necessary legal structures that maintain or enforce property rights, contracts, and honest dealing; all of which are necessary components to capitalism. Furthermore, your characterization of the profit motive isn’t valid, as profit motive is not limited to necessity or luxury, as you suppose. Any profit motive carried out within the legal framework of capitalism is perfectly in keeping with capitalism, even if that motive is altruistic in its ultimate ends.
As for socialism, there is a different legal framework required for it. Enforcement of that framework, which is quite a bit different than that of capitalism, amounts to much more than mere teamwork. It is forced sharing, as I have discussed above. Rather than requiring people to honor the terms of agreed upon trade, socialism requires that some give to others for nothing in return. Again, that’s not teamwork.
