Physical duress is a great way to condition someone. That being said, most parents are doing it wrong.

Side: Agreed

Certainly some of the children who are not physically beaten by their parents end up unspoiled.

Side: No

Certainly not, unless you give the child the leeway to do things on his own,he'll never grow; This phrase has become a cliche which has absolutely no meaning today.

Never spoil a child, since as s/he grows s/he has to face life on their own, there won't be anyone to help, and it won't be an easy path or her/his way either. So better let the child now how life actually is and not always be given whatever they ask for without earning it, and be punished for the bad things s/he has done and not always be easily forgiven.

Side: No

If you need to use physical abuse to get your children to behave, you're a horrible parent.

Side: No

Children are scarred into adulthood from corporal punishment.
