A very brilliant.

He was so brilliant, that when given an opportunity to use the miracles of modern science to get rid of his cancer (because it was a rare form of pancreatic cancer that was treatable), he said "nah, I'll try alternative medicine". Then, when alternative medicine didn't work, it was too late to operate on his cancer.

And so now he's dead.

Bob Marley died in a similarly stupid way.

He made better products then Microsoft. He constantly made newer and better products, not so that his company would receive more money, but because he wanted to demonstrate how hard his company was working at getting to the next level of technology time and time again.

And now he's gone.

I honor him as much as I'd honor the death of anyone else I happen to come across, whether I know them or not.

Working hard to get ahead why? Bigger market share, more customers, more sales, more profit. Everything in business comes down to money.

But he was extraordinarily innovative, yes.

Not all rich people are evil people, and while this is the anathema of many of my arguments, I do recognize it as truth. Steve Jobs was one of those people, along with the still living Warren Buffet.

My point is that making more money to make your business bigger isn't necessarily done just for the purpose of making more money and making your business bigger.

Steve Jobs was one of those businessmen who made his company bigger so he could give more and more to people, namely, a drastic increase in innovative technology.

So, working hard to get ahead in our technological race to the beginning of the Singularity. Not that he believed in the Singularity necessarily. But all computer scientists who care about their work are ultimately working towards the Singularity, whether they've heard about it/agree with it or not.

Even though Bill Gates and Microsoft pioneered the world of computers, Steve Jobs was arguably the biggest innovator of modern-day technology. He took the basic idea and technology of what Microsoft was trying to do and added a personal touch with Apple. Despite creating new technology like the iPod, iPhone, iPad, etc, he'll most likely be remembered for his earlier contributions to the world of computers.

Side: early innovations

Steve Jobs simply made life better with his innovative products. The Mac computer revolutionized the personal computer, the iPod revolutionized how we listen to music, the iPhone revolutionized how we use cell phones, the iPad will again reinvent how we use computers.

I've never used Apple's but it's really sad that he is dead now. He was a total genius and he will be remembered forever.

I really do not see why all the commotion about his death. I look at the featured news articles on Yahoo and, every since the day after his death, they have article after article about Steve Jobs. Who is he to get such praise? He certainly wasn't as well known as Bill Gates or Elizabeth Taylor, and I do not recall half as much commotion when Elizabeth Taylor died, nor do I expect half as much commotion when Bill Gates dies. All in all, I'd say that they are capitalizing off of his death and blowing it way out of proportion.

I have been seeing mixed reviews about Steve Jobs' role as an innovator, a leader; or an autocratic, authoritarian ruler.

Personally, I believe that there is no clear distinction between a man's success and failure. Neither should there be a true line of judgement to say whether he is good or bad. So, to start off my thoughts about Mr Jobs' legacy, I shall talk about his successes.

Creating the iGeneration.

It has been controversial on the topic of the iGeneration, how Steve Jobs went about revolutionizing the industrially and technologically advanced age to set a new benchmark for smartphone and electronic gadget industries. To see it from an investor's point of view, Steve Jobs has succeeded. However to see it from a manager's point of view, one would be more interested in how he manages the company. Certainly there have not been many articles and reviews about this, neither am I going to speak in depth about it - Steve Jobs was a good manager because he brought the company from zero to hero; likewise he was a not-so-good manager because there had been stories, and I emphasize stories, about his authoritarian style of management. So was the product, the iGeneration, everything that defines Steve Jobs' legacy?

Nope.

The reason why there was such a hype over this great leader's death is because he left an impact that reaches out to many. This was pretty much the case when all time star Michael Jackson passed away. The "rock-star" effect is pretty understandable, 40% of the smartphone consumers uses an iProduct and many more heard of his legacy. Then again people will bring in the concept of a "polished-up" image of a company's CEO in order to boost market sales, stuffs like that. Personally I do not wish to touch on that, it is up to the people out there how they wish to perceive a person.

So to keep it really short and simple.

Steve Jobs is as successful as our individual opinions perceive him to be and..

His legacy will pass on as far as iProduct reaches out.
