Survival of the fittest or nature seeking perfect balance? (evolution debate)
Is evolution truely survival of the fittest? or is it a giant balancing act that can be related to the mathimatical equation of Pi where everything is different but, the deeper you go into the equation the more perfect the circle gets?

It is both. You could say that it is a struggle to maintain balance, but it is a constant struggle since the balance is, itself, constantly changing. Those that can maintain the balance at a specific point in time are the fittest, at least at that time and place. And they will survive until, inevitably, the balance required becomes too much.
