I'm gonna go with Taylor Swift not because she's better, but just because of personal preference. I prefer the sound of her music more; it's very bubbly, and it goes with my personality. Plus, it brings out my inner romantic. =) I respect the fact that Demi is a good role model for girls, but...she doesn't sing about things that I go through, so therefore her music doesn't affect me personally. Taylor. Unfortunately, a person who takes drugs and goes into rehab isn't exactly the best 'role model'. Demi can sing strong songs, I get it, but what about the softer, more delicate songs? For example, let's take Taylor's "Safe And Sound" Demi can sing it, but just not as good as Taylor. Taylor's a nice person, and she doesn't abuse her body with drugs and stuff. Demi is a nice girl I must admit, but her songs unfortunately don't appeal to me. Her songs are almost all about love or heartbreak. And annoying fans always say to who hates her "You're just jealous." It gets super annoying. That goes for Selena Gomez too, even if I love her. The excuse gets old, suck it up and move on. If you don't like it, fine. Mind your own business and don't tell people their jealous just because they hate her. I'm not fond of any of her songs, it just doesn't make my brain feel the need to listen to it over and over again. Personal issues is part of this argument, yes, but Taylor is better in: Beauty, Singing, and Good Role-Modeling. Side: Taylor Swift
if you're really going to argue about vocals.. wow. I respect your opinion and realize this was posted a while ago but check Demi now. She made a song for those Sandy Hook children, made songs for the ones who were bullied. Every girl has a heartbreak but I think people who are bullied need that kind of music more. About going into rehab, it wasn't because of drug abuse. She felt like she needed to fix her problems, which was the RIGHT thing to do. Majority or almost all of Taylor Swift's music is about love and heartbreaks too by the way... Taylor is beautiful, so angel-like. But Demi shows you don't need to be skinny to be beautiful. She has helped me so much with my life and she's showing her fans that even in breaking points, you need to stay strong. STAY STRONG, that's her motto, the thing she's really known for. Definitely Demi, despite Taylor being amazingly talented and beautiful, Demi is so inspiring it is unbelievable, she has shown me that it is truly possible to get through anything, and you don't have to be a size 0 to be beautiful. She has helped me overcome my problems and everytime I need someone to be there for me, I turn on Demi's music and she always is. She is amazingly grateful to her fans and her voice is just fantastic, her songs speak to people and she herself, reaches out to people. She takes part in things such as 'love is louder' and disagree all you want, but Demi is such a role model for girls and women everywhere. I used to want to look like the stick thin models on the front of magazines but Demi has shown me there are other ways to look beautiful. D.E.M.I♥♥♥ Side: Demi Lovato

I say Demi. As great and amazing Taylor Swift is, Demi's approach is different. If you realize majority or almost all of Taylor Swift's music is about love and breakups which helps teen girls yes but Demi spreads strength with her music. No, not every Demi Lovato song is about staying strong but everyone knows what Demi went through now. She does not need 297177392 boyfriends to write a song about love either. As a Disney star to who she is now she's an excellent for both young and older fans of any age because she continues to grow strong and excellent. And let's not forget what Demi did in the X-Factor for Jillian Jensen. While they're both great role models, I say Demi is better than Taylor Swift. Side: Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato is definitely better because of a few main reasons: She has a bigger vocal range as I can tell from her songs. There is no way Taylor can hit many of the high notes Demi has done such as some in the song "Waitin' for You" from Demi's newest album called Confident. Also, she is a greater role model. In her newest album, she states, "What's wrong with being confident?" In my perspective, this is a big lesson in which many people needs to learn. In the song, "Old Ways", Demi described her experience of maturing and changing her style. She is trying to send us the message that when you enter a new chapter or place in life, don't be afraid to try new things. Find something/place/person that is suitable for you, not people around you, but you only. Last but not least, this woman is never afraid to show herself to the world, to show who she really is, and this is proven clearly in the album of Confident. Anyway, this is my point of view. I do know that Taylor is a great singer and she has more grammys and awards than Demi, but it doesn't matter to me. It isn't just about music. It is about the life lessons Demi has taught me that made me look up to her. Demi's music had inspired me a lot, and will continue to throughout my whole entire life. Side: Demi Lovato
