Ha ha ha ha. How do you come up with this tripe? So let's flip that around to test it. If you have a totalitarian big brother state and you go to break the grip of it, do you turn to conservatism? Is it censorship and theocratic supremacy and no social program funding and racist hate speech and marginalization of womens' rights and all these classic conservative positions which break the chains of big brother? Ha ha ha ha. Of course not. Side: LIBERALISM IS NOT 1984

You just described the liberal love affair with big brother Islam. Nevertheless, 1984 uses doublespeak, which the left is know for, doublethink, which the left is known for, and what it calls "news-speak" (which is the same as political correctness). In the book, there is a "Thought police", which is exactly what the left does by stopping non-liberal speakers from speaking with violence. The left has the monopoly on the propaganda media. And as is the narrative of "1984", the zombie followers love slogans they can recite. And... it is the left that wants the government to control our lives. Finally, in the book, it is the working class that are the "good guys" with free thought. The left is big brother. Side: LIBERALISM IS 1984
