The Left loves talking about so called settled science of Global warming and the 97% claim
How many times have we heard the statistic of how 97% of scientists agree with Global warming (Climate Change to those who had their Global warming models collapse) and if you don't agree you are a deniar! I just listened to an interview with a scientist who said the 97% claim is total deception. It is playing games with numbers. This scientist said that the 97% statistic can be true if you cherry pick the parts of Global warming in agreement.
The total deception from the Left is how they play the numbers. The controversial points of Global warming is in regards to who or what is causing Global warming. This is where there is a huge % of dissagreement in the Scientific community. Those on the Left want you to believe it is man made and the evidense does not support this assumption. Scientists actually say that the majority of green house gases come from the oceans. The environmental activists on the Left have always had an agenda to place more taxes and more regulations on energy companies, which woud greatly increase our electric bills.
As with most things Democrats fight for, they twist the facts, use scare tactics, etc. to get their agenda's passed.

Here is the study behind the 97% statistic http://iopscience.iop.org/1748-9326/8/2/ It is a review of about 12,000 peer reviewed papers over a 20 year timespan, rated independently by multiple reviewers, and then rated by the study authors themselves (both ratings are just over 97%) 0

"You can take any criteria you want to come up with any percentage you want." The way these studies work is that they tell you their methodology so you can review it and see if what they did was "HOGWASH" or not. You should even be able to duplicate the process and get the same results if you have the time, ability, etc. So, while you can "take any criteria you want to come up with any percentage you want", they actually can't. Do you have a specific criticism of the methodology the study used? I just listened to an interview with a scientist who said the 97% claim is total deception. If you pass along who it was and/or their critique, people can review it and determine for themselves whom to believe. Part of me still wonders how people could ever believe that 7 billion people (more than double what it was less than 50 years ago) living, breathing, raising cattle, manufacturing, cutting down trees to make houses, building towns, using transportation, generating/using energy (esp. from fossil fuels), etc., etc. would be expected to have little to no effect on the atmosphere. the Left have always had an agenda to place more taxes and more regulations on energy Yep, last time I was at the commie meeting, we were all salivating at the prospect of raising energy costs for no reason. THERE IS NOT 97% AGREEMENT OVER MAN MADE CAUSES TO GLOBAL WARMING! Hmmm, they provided a well-cited study using thousands of person-hours evaluating decades of research, but you did day NO in ALL CAPS - gee, tough call... - I'm still going to side with them for now, but you keep trying. 1

Well, the science of climate change existed before this argument you are referring to started. Humans, like all other organisms, affect the ecosystem and therefore the climate that they inhabit. You could always just argue that we do not understand enough about the climate or the ecosystem as a whole to predict the future. Maybe there is a hidden feedback loop that will cause an Ice Age. |
