He has a good point though. If there were to be a revolution, it would probably at least be heavily influenced by parties. Parties have fought each other (though usually without violence) since the United States came into being, and it wouldn't be a big stretch to think they might use a violent conflict to take advantage of the situation. And supposing that was the case, conservatives would have a massive advantage over the liberals since most of the US armed service members identify as conservatives. Also, liberals tend more often to live in cities, which are extremely dangerous in crisis situations, whilst conservatives tend to live in agricultural areas where life is a lot more self sufficient.
