The U.S.S.R. Was Not True Communism
I don't know how many communists we have on this site, but I know it's common amungst communists to claim that Soviet Russia was not "true communism". So, let's debate about it.
Pro will define "true communism" and explain why the USSR didn't fit that defninition. Con will refute pro's arguments.

If you define 'true' communism as 'total' communism, then I'd argue that you've defined 'true' communism out of existence. The soviet government, at its height, was 80% of Russia's GDP with 20% being private sector black-market trading. That 20% was explicitly illegal, and yet it happened anyway. This tells me that Russia did have true communism, it's just that this is the result of true communism because it doesn't work. Side: It WAS (con)
