Focusing on greener solutions and renewable energy to start. I know biomass from algae is something to look at, lowering the cost of energy saving solutions and allowing a better tax credit for homes and business that use solar power/wind power/green roof systems as well as water conservation efforts would help a great deal as well. All of those, if pressed, could be combined to one answer, better education. A global programme of planting millions/billions of trees would slow up the hitherto, seemingly irreversible disastros march of climate change. The banning of the non-essential use of plastics such as water bottles and the over use of plastic packaging would also make a significant contribution. We're at war with the petrochemical giant corporations and their;- profits at any cost policy. CNN reports : Italian council is flooded immediately after rejecting measures on climate change. Truly, if you understand the globe, you understand that oil is finite. Clearly, if you continue to take something out of it, that something will run out.. That's the problem we need to solve. Fusion and/or space based solar power collection are the only two reasonable alternatives.. Technically speaking, they're both just a touch out of reach.. That said, would investing everything into a Manhattan Project style of endeavor put us over the top?? I dunno. We invented fission when we put our collective minds to it. Can we do it again? I dunno.. What I do know is that we have nothing to lose.. Clearly, if we keep going the way we are, we'll either drown from rising oceans, or have to start walking because we ran out of gas.. The best measure to fight climate change, which has been happening since the beginning of time, is to ignore the partisan sky is falling fossil fuel haters. I've been listening to these same political environmentalists preaching how we were having Global cooling, and when it never happened, Global warming, and when that did not happen.... "CLIMATE CHANGE!!!! The words "Climate Change" covers it all after every other failed prediction. The Oceans are not rising anywhere near the rates these doomsday Sayers told us it would. They screamed we would Coastal homes sitting in water by this time! That we would have record numbers of Hurricanes on the East coast, when in fact we had record FEW hurricanes on the East coast. Once you ignore the Al Gores and other radical fossil fuel haters, maybe the sane people in our world can come together with common sense answers to obvious things we can all agree on. When you have Left wing activists trying to shut down fossil fuels, radically increasing our electricity costs, cutting millions of jobs, etc., there will be instant opposition rather than compromise. Until nations like China, Russia and many others take the same hits to their fossil fuel industry, so we can all be working on an even playing field, there will be no compromise. Those on the Left are such activists when it comes to any subject, our nation is in a constant state of bitter partisan politics. These radicals have absolutely nothing good to say about Trump, who has done many great things for our economy, our never ending illegal immigration problems, getting Mexico to patrol their own borders, China's trade policies, ISIS retaliation, bringing jobs back to America, getting NATO to pay more for military protection, etc. You would think he is Hitler to listen to these Socialistic Democrats. He is the first President I ever saw whose main goal is to accomplish his promises made to the American people. HOW REFRESHING IS THAT? The reasons these Democrats constantly seek political warfare when it comes to any issue, comes down to one word.... politics! The Democrat Party has become the Party of identity politics, and will always pander to their LGBT, Feminist, Pro abortion, Environmental, groups. They will never compromise as witnessed with their radical support of No Restriction abortions. They could not even bring themselves to compromise with the GOP's 20 week limit abortion bill (even when the Bill still allowed extreme case late term abortions). Animals have been going extinct since the beginning of time. It's people who have tried to change nature and prevent the natural process of extinction. Mankind is a natural part of nature and our impact will have an impact on which animals survive. If animals can not adapt to climate change, they will go extinct. A drastic plan to reduce population by educating young people about the harmful effects -- financially, environmentally -- of overpopulation; giving free condoms, UID's, subdermal implants, emergency contraceptive pills etc to women all over the world; robust and comprehensive sex education in schools; a complete halt in the usage of fossil fuels for nonessential industries, and the implementation of an intensive deescalation in the production of any and all things which use fossil fuels, and heavy investment in environmentally friendly replacements; cutting oil subsidies for multinational energy companies; renationalizing domestic energy companies; a ban on plastic; a drastic redistribution of wealth to bring people out of poverty and allow them the freedom to choose the energy mediums they use; a complete reshaping of world governments to legislate and protect against policies that corrupt the climate agenda; prison time for people who are found funding anti-climate science; prison for politicians who lie to the populace about policy; a complete withdrawal of all private oil companies from countries where those companies have vested interests in distorting or disrupting the politics of those nations; the dissolving of the World Bank and the recentralization of all national banks; ultimately the complete destruction of predatory capitalism. |
