Coronavirus: Why kids aren’t the germbags, and grownups are

So why aren’t young kids super-spreaders? It’s a mystery. Surely, we thought, their dripping noses and sticky little hands are loaded with germs. A new study found that younger children have less of a receptor called angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), which the virus needs to enter cellsExpression of the gene for this receptor is lowest in 4- to 9-year-olds. It is higher in 10- to 17-year-olds, although still lower than in adults.

It's not really a mystery, you answered your own question. Kids are not as prone to being susceptible to this disease, they won't spread it if they don't have it.

The coronavirus spares most kids.

Hello C:

The KEY word, is MOST.. A Pediatrician says 80% of kids likely have coronavirus, but they're so asymptomatic you'd never know.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/coronavirus-children-pediatrician-80-percent-asymptomatic/

But, let's say you're right.. Let's say that only 2% have the virus.. Lemme see. 2% of the 50 million kids in school across this great land of ours, is one million kids.. And, let's say that ONLY 2% of them will die. 2% of one million kids is 20,000.

That's a lotta dead kids..
