Truly dangerous, because it's utter lunacy. The majority is left of center, and when it all gets broken down by positions, even more are farther left than they realize, socially in particular. Most of the more fiscally conservative don't even want most of the social programs cut. It's the idiot politicians that have moved right. Side: Dangerous

Not the people - the politicians have moved right. That's what I just said. But you will also find the majority of people have followed suit, for the obvious reason that they don't want to feel like political outcasts. The American citizenry is without question further right than the European citizenry. Politics works in a similar manner to news. The TV/newspapers tell people what the news is and they discuss it. Politicians tell people what the political choices are and they discuss them. In this, both are able to set the parameters for public debate. They don't control the answers, but they do control the questions. Side: Innocuous
