Poverty is a social construct. Just look at Saudi Arabia, they are a desert shit hole with only one major resource but they have wealth because there is demand for that resource. But Africa on the other hand is full of resources and African countries are usually poor because although their resources are desired by other nations they are usually taken rather than sold. If we went off resources themselves, rather than social constructs then there would be enough for every nation to prosper, but instead many nations are molested by multinational corporations and by their own rulership and the people are "poor" despite their being resources for them, because capitalism is totally gay. Capitalism is about the few using the labour of the many for their own vastly unproportionate gain, Socialism is about using resources to benefit civilization as a whole rather than a privileged few, it's that simple.
