CreateDebate is a social debate community built around ideas, discussion and democracy.
If this is your first time checking out a debate, here are some quick tips to help get you started:
Arguments with the highest score are displayed first.
Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.
Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account.
All scores are updated in real-time.

On Election Night 2016, with most of the votes counted, half the country went to bed feeling despondent and desperately wishing for a last minute, early morning miracle. The following day, after pinching ourselves in the hope that we were still dreaming, we awoke feeling disappointed and bewildered as we faced the fact that Donald Trump was our new president-elect.
By the time we all got to work and back to our daily lives, some of my psychiatric colleagues had already coined the phrase “Post-Trump Stress Disorder” to describe how they, many of their friends, and many of their patients were feeling. So much winning for Trump and Trump supporters, so much losing for the rest of us.
For some people Trump's campaign and presidency has created a type of PTSD — what I call "Post-Trump Sex Disorder." Trump has created feelings of fear, loathing, and nausea. People just don’t want to have sex. This would mainly be seen with women who are just appalled at how creepy Trump is. He takes what is often a positive male attribute of confidence and pushes it way over the line into a rape-like and rape-entitled kind of arrogance.
LMMFAO i am guessing the porn industry is shutting down until Beto is elected ????
Democratic Presidential candidate and US Senator for New Jersey Cory Booker, who is also vegan, has said the planet can't sustain people eating meat 'the same way America does' due to limited resources.
Booker, 49, discussed the environmental impact of the mass production of beef, poultry and seafood in broad terms, while pointing out that he has no plans to dictate what people can and cannot eat.
'The tragic reality is this planet simply can’t sustain billions of people consuming industrially produced animal agriculture because of environmental impact,' Booker told VegNews.
'It’s just not possible, as China, as Africa move toward consuming meat the same way America does because we just don’t have enough land.'
I am just guessing here but the ignorant nigger does not know seafood comes from the ocean ???????????????????
Why don't you put a dick into your body you Nazi piece of shit.
Can you actually believe the audacity of this dickhead? After a fifty year "war on drugs" where right wing idiots have been imprisoning pot-smoking teenagers and pregnant women, Bronto turns up on one of his 400 alt accounts to declare "the left wants to tell us what we can and cannot put into our bodies".
The guy is literally a scumbag. I would seriously like to hurt him.

Looks as if Leftist have a sexual dysfunction when it comes to Presidential Elections.
Some people don't understand the difference between demand and suggest. Michelle didn't "demand" better food in schools, she suggested it should be better. Only an idiot would read demand into that!
It seems we have some idiots here. Surprised??? ;-)
AL you should really understand how FUCKIN STUPID you Leftist are !!!!!!!!!!!!

AL you mean to say Moochelle told you what to eat ? How did you know what to eat before Moochelle came along to save you from the food you ate DUMMY ????????? What a FUCKIN IDIOT you are to FUCKIN believe GOVERNMENT needs to tell ANYONE what to eat !!!!!!
Everyone I know goes to church. Nobody cares. Many advocated for marijuana due to its use for certain conditions. 1980 called and wants you to stop pretending we're still in that decade.
The DEA enforces laws, not right wing political positions.
Laws against drug use are right wing in nature. Advocates to legalize pot have always been on the left. States that have recreational pot fully legal are predominantly left.

Libs are known for jumping off the cliff hoping they can fly. Usually their positions backfire on society. But mainly, being cautious to legalize a drug for play, that does have known side effects vs criminalizing eating steak is hardly comparable.
The fact that there is an article that says “hey republicans too” makes my point.
Pointing out that Right wingers too want to tell us what we can and cannot put into our bodies does not justify what Left wingers are doing. Maybe change the title slightly.

Not really. It proves that what you said concerning who advocates for legal pot was objectively false.

I am assuming you cede that drug enforcement is hardly comparable to food enforcement, seeing you ignored debating the point.

I’m assuming you don’t actually care that the left wants to tell us what we can and cannot put into our bodies, but rather what they tell us we can or cannot put in our bodies.
I’m assuming you don’t actually care that the left wants to tell us what we can and cannot put into our bodies
I created a debate about that very thing. You then created a red herring (drugs) to avoid the actual topic (food) all together.
but rather what they tell us we can or cannot put in our bodies
Illegalizing food is a rather disturbing position. Illegalizing a drug with known side effects is hardly comparable to illegalizing food. Agree or disagree?
A) The Right moving Left doesn’t prove their original position to be Left.
B) Rush Limbaugh got addicted to pain pills. That doesn’t mean he is for legalization of opioids.
C) Personally? I’d rather be told I can’t do what I already don’t do. That’s not really the point though. The point is that your debate topic applies to the right on a different issue.
A) The Right moving Left doesn’t prove their original position to be Left.
It proves only one wing is moving toward the center rather than further into the extremist position.

Cool story.

The topic is a left wing loon wanting to make steak illegal. You've ignored that point for 15 to 20 straight posts now.
Not great. One party is pushing further and further toward more and more extreme views.
It made a point too.
Not one that helped your position. Rush doing opiods has little to do with a position that you don't even know if he takes, and it has zero to do with illegalizing steak.
Oh. I though it was that The left wants to tell us what we can and cannot put into our bodies. That’s not exclusively a left wing thing.
You still haven't shown any equivalence between drugs vs food. Illegalizing water isn't equivalent to illegalizing hair products, and in this analogy, the group is letting go of illegalizing hair products and moving center.
Not great. One party is pushing further and further toward more and more extreme views.
Maybe you should make a debate about it. This one isn’t it.
Not one that helped your position.
It shows that meth addiction being prevalent in commonly conservative areas does not indicate that conservatives are for legalizing drugs, even if its conservatives who are using them.
You still haven't shown any equivalence between drugs vs food.
They are both consumables. If you care about one and not the other, then you aren’t against laws concerning consumables as such, but only specific consumables.
It shows that meth addiction being prevalent in commonly conservative areas does not indicate that conservatives are for legalizing drugs, even if its conservatives who are using them.
Not a particularly convincing argument seeing your position was "right wingers want to control what you put into your body" all while not controlling what they put into their bodies and even sharing it with each other while not caring some more.
None of the states where it is fully legal are very Right. That’s sufficient. If I point out all the lefties who don’t care what you eat, it won’t change the fact that it’s a position among the left.
None of the states where it is fully legal are very Right. That’s sufficient.
So you cede that Nazi Germany was left wing, and are unable to make the connection that drug use laws are hardly comparable to food prohibition. You are welcome to show me a steak eating's effects on a baby in the womb vs drug use.
It's one thinking to tell you what you cannot put in your body, and it is entirely another to tell you that the current farming of livestock is unsustainable. The original article seems to refer to the latter.
He is right to say that drugs are not on par with food. He is wrong to say that it is strictly the left that wants to control what we can and cannot put in our bodies. He doesn't actually care that the left and right do this, he care about what we are allowed to consume.
