CreateDebate is a social debate community built around ideas, discussion and democracy.
If this is your first time checking out a debate, here are some quick tips to help get you started:
Arguments with the highest score are displayed first.
Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.
Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account.
All scores are updated in real-time.

When you are ready to voice your opinion, use the Add Argument button to create an argument.
If you would like to address an existing argument, use the Support and Dispute link within that argument to create a new reply.
I agree. The right goes along with corruption and accepts the flaws in a man made system as if they are universal laws written in stone. The left wants to change things for the better.
Nope. The right accepts reality and thinks and acts accordingly based on what they are really looking at in real life. The left creates a false reality and acts based on said fake reality.
Example. Socialism doesn't work. We accept it and go on. The left accepts only that it should work in theory in some nonexistent reality and demands that reality be reality, even though it is not reality. Examples from real life are discounted by leftist minds.
Example: the right accepts there are bad guys and that we need the police. The left says that in a perfect, nonexistent utopia, cops are not needed, nor guns, and they act on that fake reality where cops anf guns have no purpose.

Assertion does not an argument make.
Example. Socialism doesn't work.
Trying to blend capitalism with socialism doesn't work, real socialism does work.
even though it is not reality.

Humans are primitive, when we grow out of infancy as a civilization, we will understand how to change people rather than lock them in cages or shoot them :)

Basically Orwell's "1984".
If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—for ever.
-1984
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now you begin to understand me.
"Newspeak is the language of Oceania, a fictional totalitarian state ruled by the Party, who created the language to meet the ideological requirements of English Socialism (Ingsoc).[1] In the world of Nineteen Eighty-Four (1949), Newspeak is a controlled language, of restricted grammar and limited vocabulary, a linguistic design meant to limit the freedom of thought—personal identity, self-expression, free will—that ideologically threatens the régime of Big Brother and the Party, who thus criminalized such concepts as thoughtcrime, contradictions of Ingsoc orthodoxy."
Do you realize that whether you are authoritarian or libertarian is also part of the political spectrum?
Fair enough.
I apologize for not putting better care and thought into my response.
What I should have said is that Orwell specifically called out the Soviets (left) and the Nazis (right)as equally oppressive.
Additionally, had he reached further afield than 20th Century European political oppression, he would have included more than just communism and fascism. He would doubtless have included theocracies of any religion, any sorts of kingdoms, and even faux republics after the model of Rome (where it was merely a choice of impotent tools or oppressors in sheep's clothing.)
The point remains that governments with too much power inevitably become oppressive. A libertarian government with too much power ceases to be libertarian.

Belief in a future event is rather different than physically trying to make socialism happen in this life now isn't it? A nonexistent god can do nothing to you. An existing Marxist can destroy your country.
You literally sound like a 1950s red scare propaganda leaflet. Marxism was invented to save countries from lying little bastards such as yourself, which probably explains why you hate it so much. Marxism ends the dictatorship of the one percenters and frees ordinary people from enslavement: everything you do not want, you silly authoritarian stink bucket.
Communists, Marx said, are reproached for seeking to abolish countries. These people fail to understand the nature of the proletariat, he wrote.
“The working men have no country. We cannot take from them what they have not got. Since the proletariat must first of all acquire political supremacy, must rise to be the leading class of the nation, must constitute itself the nation, it is so far, itself national, though not in the bourgeois sense of the word.”
Furthermore, largely because of capitalism, he saw hostilities between people of different backgrounds receding. As the proletariat grew in power, there soon would be no need for nations, he wrote.
“National differences and antagonism between peoples are daily more and more vanishing, owing to the development of the bourgeoisie, to freedom of commerce, to the world market, to uniformity in the mode of production and in the conditions of life corresponding thereto.”
Marxism ends the dictatorship of the one percenters
Right. That's why Marxist leaders are millionaires and billionaires. They don't plan on owning you once they find you no longer useful and you give them what they want.
and frees ordinary people from enslavement
Yes. Food stamps, welfare and job choice is very slave like.
everything you do not want
Right. I don't demand the sloth get as nice a dam as the beavers or for turtles to have a nest like the birds...
Right. That's why Marxist leaders are millionaires and billionaires.
The people leading us right now are millionaires and billionaires, moron. Marxism is a theory about the decentralisation of wealth. Do you understand what decentralisation of wealth means, you stupid fucking Zionist twit?
I do. So does Soros and Sanders. And they won't be giving you freedom once you hand them oversight over the means of production, food, healthcare, and speech. If you believe a billionaire Marxist plans on being in the same "class" as you, or a man who calls himself God plans on dropping a class, you are a damned fool.
Marxism is a theory about the decentralisation of wealth.
🤔 Certainly didn’t apply to the rapist Marx who pissed his way through several fortunes ...... But of course that’s different isn’t it you fruit cake ?
Assertion: "a confident and forceful statement of fact or belief"
So, no it doesn't make an argument. But, it is the statement of a belief, and you can argue your beliefs.
real socialism does work
You forgot an asterisk there, namely on paper. According to many socialists, we've never actually seen real socialism. And, to be honest, they're right. They're right because under real socialism, countries collapse.
Says the man who thinks reality was generated out of nothing by a magic causeless quantum computer God.
Yes, he sees reality the same way you see money.
or shoot them
Says the man whos fellow socialist leaders had political & religious dissidents bulk-executed for their beliefs.
So, what do you think about somebody deciding to change YOU, regardless of your feelings on the matter?
That's what our current society does, your whole life you are conditioned and programmed, not for your own good or the good of anything larger for yourself, but merely to serve the establishment. I am sure if I was a murderer or a rapist I would much rather be brainwashed into not killing or raping people then to be shot or locked in a cage for over a decade.
Also, people do not just spontaneously form these tendencies, there is a cause for every act of evil. Once you let go of the illusion of free will and learn what causes destructive behaviour in the mechanistic neuro-chemical apparatus of the human brain it becomes possible to socially engineer society so that these things do not happen in the first place.
Not exactly what the debate was going on. The description explains that, in their opinion, the left makes decisions according to a fantasy world that they've created in their heads. The right, though, makes decisions according to the actual world in accordance with reality.
The right accepts reality as it is. The left does not.
The left tries to make changes, working towards a utopian reality. The right on the other hand, accepts flaws and shows no enthusiasm towards changing them.
The left has always been reality challenged. They prefer their safe spaces in the colleges and universities around the country where they can live in and revel in idealism and theory and avoid reality altogether.
