the UK has the best Navel force in the world and Along side the German and Spanish fleets they will probably own the western sea (to an extent)

I would count out the french, and replace with the Russian (eastern Europe, depending on what happens) and Denmark military along with the fact that the western coast of Europe would be enforced with coast military points such as mortar and coast frigates to stop or postponed US landing.

The EU isn't really an military alliance maybe in times of war, its economical and financial so meaning that the country's can help each other with money and other kinds of things like that.

also the US would have to try and deal with the combined armed forces of the following...

Russia (depending) , Ukraine, Denmark, UK, Spain, Italy, Iceland, S.Ireland, France (maybe), Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Greece, Sweden, Belgium, Portugal, Finland, Austria, Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and another 20+ military compatible country's!

As well as the US could do, by the time their done with the UK, German, Icelandic, Spanish and Denmark forces, they'll be very hurt, giving a chance to the rest of Europe to hit!

In my opinion, it could go either way, with both sides being strong, but, the EU country's being larger in numbers and money together, the US would be fighting alone (put into the story) against 30+ country's, which could even include Russia.

So its just the U.S. versus The United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, and pretty much anybody with a military? When you put it like that I don't think America has a chance unless they just nuclearize everything.

The outcome of the whole war would depend on whether or not China got involved, but we do have Russia! The USA is one country.

Okay lets look at this.

(Note: I Will be compering the US forces Vs. The top 4 powers in each category of combat for the top 4 in each category.)

- Okay, you may be right about the naval business, but, The US total navel strength (submarines, Air craft carriers, ext...) is 290 ships.

- the combined naval power of UK, France, Germany and Spain is 417 ships, this is 127 more available ships than the US. This is with the fact of you passing over the North Atlantic while taking heavy mortar and anti-sea fire from the coastal country's of Europe.

Edge, European fleets.

Okay, The US have (including reserves, active personal, ext) about 145,212,012 personal.

- the MAIN military strengths of the 4 main land European country's (EU only) UK, France, Germany and Italy is 122,253,614. The US out number the EU forces with

22,958,398 more personal.

Edge, US military

- Now Air strength. The us has (Including choppers, drones ext..) 15,293 air craft. Global ranking(in size) 1

- Put together the main 4 European air forces UK, France, Italy and Germany have a total of 3,651. Global ranking(in size), UK: 9. France: 28. Italy: 17. Germany: 12.

Edge, Draw. My reason for this is that if you add the rest of the EU you're looking at about another 3000-4000 aircraft. Also, its has been proven that RAF pilots revive better and longer training the USAF.

- Special forces, I cannot find/know any total strengths for special forces but I know the US Navy SEAL Team and US Army Delta Force are 3rd and 2nd in Global ranking of top ten special forces.

- But, The SAS are first, along with French Army Special Forces Brigade in 7th and German GSG9 in 5th.

Edge, EU special forces.

now, Russia, They have and want to keep their financial relations with Germany and France. Especially Germany. So, if their money relations was threatened by the US, they would most properly help. Even if it means helping the UK. gIVING EUROPE A HUGE boost!

That being said; yeah, no! Unless we are allowed to use the secrete psych-ops that were developed with help from alien technology. But then the mass hypnosis machines in America will only be running at half power and people here might start to think for themselves. Let's just hope it doesn't come to that.

1. We would have an ocean to separate us, and our Navy is the largest and most powerful. The British would have the next biggest navy, but they have been ramping it down in the last decade. They don't have any "real" air-craft carriers. France is decent, but wouldn't last long. Without control of the sea, no landings would occur on US soil. The US has superior air cover on the east coast and Canada, so no air-attacks. Naval combat would be won by the US.

2.Land battles. The US has the largest manpower compared to any European nation, combined though it would be pretty even. For the US to invade Europe, we would need superior air-cover on the West Coast of Europe. This would be achieved with the take-over of Iceland, covering and neutralizing Britain's air power, this would leave Britain and Ireland open for invasion, which could be achieved in time. Or just Ireland would be sufficient. Then with that jump-platform for invasion, the US would start to neutralize France, Belgium, and Germany military power, mostly with airplanes. An actual ground invasion would be very difficult due to us not knowing the terrain, and most of Europe would expect a Western invasion, thus mobalizing to the West. It's difficult to tell who would win that.

Conclusion: The US would win the naval and air campaign against Europe before the EU could invade the US. However, the US may be able to take over Ireland and the UK with some time, but mainland Europe would be almost impossible unless there is consistent bombardment from the air and sea against cities and industrial centers. Invasion could be successful, but only after a prolonged siege of Europe.

The UK with the best navy? Sorry, this isn't the age of empire any more. The US navy is numerically superior and has more aircraft carriers and submarines to take out any surface fleet. I'm not saying it would be an easy fight, but...

Counting out the French would be a mistake. The French have a good military that is well trained and supplied. Russia? I don't know. They don't have the greatest relationship with Western Europe, and would most likely stay neutral in a European conflict. Also, Iceland has no military except one navy frigate. Easily conquerable. Denmark would be able to provide support, but their navy and army is small and not much of a worry. The US would most likely take out their bases in Greenland, and as well as taking out Iceland, would control the North Atlantic. This would leave the UK navy open for attack before France or Germany could react effectively. With the UK navy out, the French, Germans, and Spanish would not be able to take on the US together with the UK navy gone.

Now, if this doesn't work, but we still take out the UK, German, French, Spanish, and Denmark forces, the rest of Europe would have lost their major military powers, thus losing their ability to effectively attack. Frankly, the US would really only need to destroy the combined navies, take over the British Isles, then continually bombard mainland Europe with free reign, not necessarily invade it.
