So are you trying to tell me that Justin Bieber and The Jonas Brothers are creative??

Who said that? These two acts are but a pimple on the arse of the world of creativity.

They can't even write their own songs. People write their songs for them.

A lot of musicians don't write their own songs, song writing is a skill that a lot of people don't have and performing is another skill that a lot of people do not possess. It's in bringing the two together that magic happens.

There are many, many artists from every musical genre, and every medium from photography, writing, sculpture, fashion design, painting, graffiti, etc, that are constantly pushing the boundaries, you just have to go on line and have a look around, I'd advise a site called tuneglue for finding artists that are similar to ones you already know. Stop paying attention to mass media, it was never the place to find good stuff anyway, in any time.

Maybe you don't know the meaning of creativity, it means using your imagination to come up with something.

Or maybe you don't know creativity when you see it, have you ever heard of Banksy, the man has single handedly made Graffiti into a sought after art form, ever listened to a genre other than pop, try Dubstep, it's warped bass heavy lo-fi vintage synth noodlieness. Check out c2c a DJ collective that make four turntables sound like an actual band. J Scott Campbell, turns modern comic book art heroines and fairy tale characters into sexy pinups. Pixar are taking computer animation to brilliant new heights with every film they produce. I could go on but I feel that it'd be a waste of my time.

Quite a broad generalization there. All artists and creative people borrow from previously creative people, it's how it evolves. Think about it like this, when has an artist of any repute ever made something that wasn't at all like something else? What would it be called? It couldn't be recognized, and wouldn't be accepted. So instead of whining about it go and have a look around, there is so much out there to be discovered.

That's the beauty of the Internet, it brings unknowns into the known without middle men clogging up the creativity of the artist with rules imposed to make the maximum profit.
