Hitler's Nationalistic Socialism was also a bastardization of socialism, as in Democratic Socialism and Communistic Socialism. Both the nationalistic and communistic "bastardizations" require a one party, totalitarian leader. Which shows socialism can be adapted to different political genres with ease. It can also be adapted to a multi-party democratic system which allows capitalism within reason, i.e., when it prevents capitalism from controlling the government with money! It's a great economic system, but only when used by other than totalitarian governments. THEN it can ACTUALLY be a part of "The Peoples Government". Democracy.

When you have decent employment numbers, the vast majority of the country is working, supporting themselves. The minimum wage increases gave us a pretty good uptick in the wage department, so, MOST people are working and supporting themselves.
