It shouldn't matter as long as they have the same rules. Either you can kneel for any reason or you can't kneel for any reason.

No doub about it. Perfect example of a double standard, as well as bias against religion.

Tim Tebow was penalized by NFL for kneeling to pray. Double standards?

Hello The:

I dunno.. The same NFL won't hire Kaepernick cause he knelt.. That's a penalty too. Are they different? Nahh..

True, but you also got up in arms about only one of the penalties. Isn't that bigotry?

Kaepernick was offered a job until it became public that his Muslim radio host girlfriend made antisemitic remarks.

It's just the right wing trying to control the NFL, like everything else, AND trying to re-write the Constitution.

Awesome. That must be why the left actually does control everything.

AND trying to re-write the Constitution.

Quote the Constitution on kneeling at football games. Next, tell us which party wants the 2nd Amendment gone.

I don't have to quote the Constitution on that, I just have to point out the First Amendment. Next, I know of only a few that want the Second gone. I certainly don't and the vast majority of Democrats DO NOT!

Again, you are one of the un-American "dividers" that make up, or follow the radical right's phony "tweets" and such, that are aimed at those with easily bent minds! I am a gun owner, millions of Democrats are gun owners! WE DO NOT WANT TO LOSE THEM! We want (as over 60% of conservatives do), REASONABLE gun laws that will REDUCE slaughter in America!

The left controls the Congress?? The left controls the Senate?? The President is a "lefty"?? The SCOTUS is "left leaning"??? The governorships are majority Democratic??? State Senates are majority Democratic?? WE control everything????? I must live in another country! Can you tell me how to get back to America?? The one "controlled by the left"?? THAT'S where I WANT to be … it's a MUCH more tolerant and honest place! It IS "AWSOME", not like HERE! :-b

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/bal-omalley-calls-for-redskins-name-change-20140805-story.html#

Add Gov. Martin O'Malley's name to the list of prominent Democrats who want Washington's National Football League team to change its name.

O'Malley's statement came in response to a question from Jorge Ramos on the Fusion satellite and cable channel Monday. Ramos asked whether the team should drop the name Redskins because many consider it an ethnic slur.

O'Malley, a potential 2016 presidential candidate, couched his opposition in gentle terms.

"We hope that in every generation we become more understanding of one another, more inclusive as a people, and more respectful of the dignity of every individual and every culture, so I think it probably is time for the Redskins to change their name," he said.

The governor's staff said they could not verify whether the governor had expressed that view before. He joins all three Democratic candidates in the recent gubernatorial primary, each of whom was questioned about the matter during the campaign. Anthony G. Brown, Douglas F. Gansler and Heather R. Mizeur each called for a name change.

The team's owner, Dan Snyder, has steadfastly refused to change the name, denying that the term is offensive despite the disagreement of many Native Americans. The team trains in Virginia but plays its home games in Prince George's County.

The team's name has been a topic of debate at the highest levels of the Democratic Party. President Obama has said the team should "probably" change its name. Hillary Clinton, a possible O'Malley primary rival, called for a change last week, saying the name was "insensitive."

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a Democrat, has declined to take a position on the name.

Again Crazy AL who is trying to control the NFL ???????? Come on DUMMY what you got to say ???????????

Well, like all conservatives, all Democrats don't always agree. I think it's not something to argue about "personally". However, if those that are involved … the Native Americans, do not like it and take it personally, neither YOU or I should have anything to say about it! The government SHOULD consider those who are insulted by it, and ignore people like US. It's the American way … or WAS when America was great. ;-)

Well, yes. Partly because the anti-First Amendment guys and gals on the right have "absorbed" the slime Trump has thrown at "those people" who disrespect the flag. It's okay for HIM to USE the flag to SHOW disrespect for an American hero, but, to show disrespect for things happening UNDER that flag, that should not BE! Well, that's different … because the disrespected president who is causing the WORLD to disrespect this country believes HE should get more R-E-S-P-E-C-T! I WILL salute him …. with ONE finger!

The U.S. Senate Wants the Redskins to Change Their Name, for What That's Worth

Fifty Democratic Senators signed a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Wednesday to pressure the Washington Redskins to change their team name — a move that like many actions of the U.S. Senate should have no political effect.

Fifty Democratic Senators signed a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Wednesday to pressure the Washington Redskins to change their team name — a move that like many actions of the U.S. Senate should have no political effect.

The letter, obtained by The New York Times specifically calls the name a "racial slur," and compares the speed with which the NBA took action against racist remarks from Clippers owner Donald Sterling to the NFL's continued support of the racist name.

By MAYA RHODAN May 22, 2014

Fifty U.S. Senators sent an open letter to National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell Thursday urging him to recommend a name change for the Washington Redskins.

The senators — mostly Democrats with two Independents — want Goodell to follow in the footsteps of National Basketball Association Commissioner Adam Silver, who recently banned L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling from the league for life following racist comments he made in a phone call that was later published publicly.

“Today we urge you and the National Football League to send the same clear message the NBA did: that racism and bigotry have no place in professional sports,” the letter reads. “It’s time for the NFL to endorse a name change for the Washington, D.C. football team.”

Tell me again Dummy AL who wants to control the NFL ?????????? Step up stupid !!
