If we're talking popular music, like the pussy cat dolls and rap? Than hell yeah. Today's music sucks.

There is no heart, or soul in pop. It's very fake and synthesized. It's Crap.But there are many genres outside of pop music which are still fantastic.

Brett Dennen, Jack Johnson, et cetera. Plus KISS is still rocking. They're wrapping up their new album any day now, should drop in September. I'm excited.

So yes, pop music is worse. But mostly it's just new and great in other genres.

definitely worse. I find myself listen to 80s music more than any other decade. In fact, I never have the "new" stuff playing, ever. And I stopped buying CD's in the late 90s. Anytime a new song comes around, it sounds like crap.

Every point in time has good and bad music. These days the popular stuff isn't that good. [in my opinion]

But times are different. There are so many different genres and styles of music these days that there will never be one big hit. There will never be a band as big as the Beatles. Or Elvis.

It's much worse than older music. With Rap and Hip-Hop being bona fide classifications in which you can win a Grammy, I think it does music a disservice. I'll take anything but today's junk in those categories.

For the most part, new music today isn't what I consider good.

I'm not saying my preference in music says it's bad.

I'm saying it lacks a lot of talent.

Some of them musicians up there can't even play their instruments, and a lot of them can't even write they own songs, lyrics, or music, and that's the fact that really ticks me off.

If someone makes their own music and likes what they do, even if it's so bad it makes your ears bleed, it's alright in my book.
