Voter ID! Can you imagine anyone fighting to keep ID's secret when voting?

All the talk each election over voter fraud, and what does the Democrat Party worry about? They spend their time trying to make it easier to commit voter fraud. They don't want to require voters to show identification! We could be having Russians paying non citizens to vote in our elections, never having to show their ID!

They must love how Democrats make it so easy to screw our elections.

What does this say about the demographics of Democrat voters? The types of voters that make up the Democrat Party's base, for some reason have a hard time showing a simple ID. What does that say about the types of voters Democrat's pander to?

So if you are a citizen of the US, and want to vote, please explain how providing an ID is such a hardship.

Lets see...... uhhh... hey honey, I'm going down to vote today, but for some inexcusable reason I have absolutely no forms of ID!

Don't worry, Democrat's want you to keep your citizenship secret when voting for the highest office in the land.

I mean COME ON! Can these Politicians be any more corrupt?

Wait a minute honey... you have no forms of ID?

You've never had a job or Social Security number? You've never driven a car which of course would require a Driver's license?

What about a birth certificate? Were you ever born?

Put simply, I see no reason for voter ID when study after study has shown voter fraud to be a non issue. Not only does it really not happen in anywhere near significant numbers, but when it does it's usually in forms where voter ID wouldn't have prevented it.

So why come up with a "solution" if there isn't a problem? Sounds like unnecessary government regulation to me.

Are you serious? You just gave me zero reasons why showing an ID is such a hardship for people.

If it can prevent one non citizen from voting in our elections, then we should have it. You gave no reason not to!

It is incredibly dangerous to give the government that sort of justification. The government should ALWAYS have to prove why something is worth doing, rather than requiring others to prove why it isn't. Otherwise you end up with an overbearing government that creates restrictions on freedoms without legitimate cause. I feel like you can agree with me that neither of us want that.

Myself and many millions of other voters want voter ID because we want those who vote to be able to prove they are citizens of this nation. How can you not grasp that fact?

This has nothing to do with Government forcing their will on people. Where I live we have always had to provide proof of our citizenship. We could not care less! We want it to be this way. This is not something new until the Democrat Party started complaining when districts required ID's.

I can not believe you would not want the same thing, UNLESS of course you want illegals voting because you know most times they will vote for the Democrat Party who gives them free stuff.

But it is something new, that's the point. These are new regulations you are calling for that have not historically existed. And in this case, the government cannot point to an actual problem that needs to be solved. I get that you say you want people to prove their ID before voting, but I can't help but wonder why since voter fraud isn't a problem.

Again, the government has a REALLY bad track record of providing solutions for nonexistent problems, so giving them the opportunity to apply that track record to our most fundamental right as citizens of this country scares me immensly.

And no, I do not want non citizens, be their illegal immigrants or otherwise, voting, be it for the Democratic Party or anyone else. But there isn't any evidence that they have been. If you can provide evidence that voter fraud is an actual problem then I would support voter ID regulations in a heartbeat. But statewide and national investigations into the issue, including President Trump's recent commission into it, did not find such evidence.

This not something new. Like I said, most States have always required identification.

What has recently happened is that the Democrat Party does not like it when districts require ID.

It has now become a big political issue because Democrats want to force these districts to allow people with no ID to vote.

I repeat, if we have one instance of voter fraud, it is one too many.

Your are downplaying problems with voter fraud. How many times do we see Florida doing a recount and mysteriously losing or finding votes that did not exist before?

The fraud is not just with people who vote more than once, but also with officials running the show.

That is a link to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Considering only 14 states had voter ID laws of any kind by 2000, it is kind of odd to say this isn't a new thing.

As for your suspisons regarding Florida, I can't really address them because they are unfalsifiable. You clearly believe in something suspicious there, I don't. Its not something that you can provide evidence of, and I can't prove a negative.

So if you are basing your belief on that, then we are at an impasse.

I'm just saying that there will always be some fraud in our voting systems and we should do everything possible to prevent it from happening.

It's quite rich when I listen to people on the Left saying how they fear Government controlling our lives (when it comes to issues they are concerned with), while they are the ones always advocating for bigger more intrusive Government.

Here's an example... people on the Left fear Government making voters provide ID's (which makes perfect common sense), but have no problem with a Big Brother Government redistributing more of our hard earned money to groups who will vote for them.

So you tell me which is more intrusive and corrupt. How hard is it to take your wallet with you when you vote? Most citizens have some sort of ID in their wallet. It is not intrusive to tell people they need ID's just as they do for a thousand other things we do in life.

Wait. Why are you suddenly talking about "people on the left"? You are talking to me, not a random group of people on the left. It seems really disrespectful to lump me in to some generalized group when I'm literally stating my firmly held opinions here, and they are ones that you should at least ideologically agree with based on your previously stated ideological stances.

And if there was voter fraud in any legitimate numbers, we would have evidence of it. Many have looked time and time again, and it simply isn't be found in the form you are referring to!

Please do not take me for a fool. I have debated you many times in the past and you most definitely lean to the Left.

Are you ashamed of what the Left stands for? If you want to distance yourself from the Left, I understand why.

So lets pretend you are not a Left leaning person, and respond to my point of how the Left usually supports bigger more intrusive Government, but not when it comes to voter ID.
