Was Jesus Right in Matthew 7:3-5?

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

I want it known that this is in response to FromWithin's frequent harangues on "shaming" people for having values misaligned from his own terrifyingly primitive values.

That's a great verse in the Bible. Too bad Progressives never live up to it and spit on the vast majority of other verses in the Bible. They only use the couple verses they agree with.

The few verses Progressives like from the Bible are when it talks about not judging others, or when it says he without sin cast the first stone.

Do you know why this is? This is because they hate any mention of moral values, living responsibly, etc. etc. because it shines a light on their irresponsibility.

They hate hearing about sexual sins such as promiscuity, homosexuality, adultery. They hate hearing about divorce being wrong, about protecting innocent life in the womb, et. etc.

Nah, they cherry pick which verses fit their lifestyles and these will be the only verses they ever speak to.

True Christians accept all the verses and try their best to live up to them.

These hypocrites refuse to even live by the few verses they preach. They CONSTANTLY JUDGE any Bible believing Christians as zealots, homophobes, judgemental hatemongers, etc.

Now what was that verse this hypocrite mentioned? Oh, that's right, the speck in the eye verse.

Lets see, the Left constantly judges Christians as not having love for Gays when we fight against activist Gay groups who want to force our churches to sanction homosexuaity as not being a sin. Now these same hypocrites who say we lack compassion for all people, are the ones who support killing babies that God says he knows in the womb.

So which is the speck and which is the plank?

I totally agree with the verse mentioned in this debate. It would be judging if a person said John Doe is a sinner and going to Hell. It is not judging if a person speaks to the sins of abortion, adultery, promiscuity, Homosexuality, abandoning our children, etc. etc.

The Bible tells Christians to speak out on the sins of the world. THAT IS NOT JUDGING!

. It would be judging if a person said John Doe is a sinner and going to Hell.

You seriously believe you have never told anyone that they are going to hell on this site? The extent of your denial is absolutely astounding.

If it is obvious by Doe's own words that he tinks he is good enough to earn a "don't burn in Hell forever" pass, and he tinks he needs not be saved by God, and he is nothing but a sinner who is separated from God by their sin, being turned evil with no way to be saved...........

Scientific observation makes it clear that Doe has one foot in the grave and the other on thin ice melting over the fire of Hell, and to state the fact of the observation is not passing judgement.....God passes judgement. The facts could change before Doe's dying is finalized and he wakes up in Hell. Doe could repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved before he dies and is lost forever in the eternal condemnation of Hell's fire burning against his sin as he burned in passion of pride against God and rejected God's goodness and mercy in Jesus Christ who died for Doe, but the fool Doe decided rather to die for their own sins and got stuck in Hell forever where sinners asked to be.

I KNOW I have never told someone they are going to hell. Only God knows this. Christians do speak to what their faith teaches which is, faith in Christ is the only way to heaven.

You show yourself to be the judgemental progressive that steriotypes Christians.

The constant denial on this site comes from the Left.

I don't have to deny things I have said because I do not run from my own words. I have nothing to be ashamed of for the things I support.

The Left lives in shame from no restriction abortons they support with their vote of Democrats. They refuse to admit what they support. They say nothing while dead beat fathers abandon their chldren! Constant denial!

Unfortunately, this one is all too easy to get around. The people you refer to have already convinced themselves that they have no plank in their eye, or that they have already removed it, and thus are seeing the sawdust in other's eyes clearly.

It's bullshit, of course, but the deluded are often the ones most convinced of their own omniscience.

Ancient legends state that Jesus, when the adulteress was brought before him and was asked what to do with her - thereby being given the opportunity either to undo himself if he said to follow the Mosaic law, or to outright speak against the Mosaic law - began to write in the sand the sins of each of the people who stood before him. It is for that reason why the people, after Christ said let he among you who is without sin cast the first stone, fled.

The moral of this story is that we must find an indisputable plank in the eye of the people to whom we refer - most likely by developing a more thorough knowledge of Christ, the namesake of those who act as much unlike their Lord and Savior as possible to use against them, something I've been working on.

Ancient legends state that you are good enough to have or earn a "don't burn in Hell forever" card to carry around in your pocket so Sodomites don't need to fear

God when you bend over for them and let them abuse your body as they defile their own in your stinky mud.

These ancient legends were written and spread around in a conspiracy to bring as many people as possible into eternal destruction of Hell fire as the demons are jealous of people who can be saved, God's love was poured out for them when He gave His Son to pay their price to buy them back from the devil's Hell, and the devil has nothing to do but inflict as much pain and agony on people made in God's image as the only way he can strike back at God....doing himself and nobody else any good, pulling down with him every sinner he possibly can ......

And one day, their names will be forgotten, their faces no longer seen, their cries no longer heard, and as a testimony of what God did to save us from their fire when He took on a body Himself and paid the price for them who reject and hated Him.........the only proof of their existence will be the smoke of their torments rising forever from the Lake of Fire, and Jesus Christ who conquered their enmity will forever reign with His saints in Heaven, having bought them back from the devil's curse, proving He is just to keep His own in Heaven and those who went against Him in Hell.

It's all about Justice, my perverted friend......and God wants you to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ so you can be in Heaven forever which is what you were made for.

They seem to think that Jesus only meant the plank for the particular sin.

You seem to think you have no need of being saved from Hell...and if you think that until your death is finalized, you will change your mind but it will be too late, fool.

They seem to think whatever they need to in order to "justify" their bizarre superiority complexes.

I really wish we knew more about how those complexes existed side by side with the accompanying persecution complexes, however.
