It was justified, as the regime there had proven weapons of mass destruction and as such constituted a direct threat to the United States.

Not only did they not have WMD's, their technology was decades away. They were also the only counter balance to Iran's power in the area. Once everyone found out the Bush admin had lied about what they knew of the danger Iraq posed, they changed the story to "oh but Saddam's a bad leader."

Great, so are about 1000 other leaders worldwide. It does not justify a pre-emptive strike, and there is no proof that the government which replaces Saddam will be any better ultimately.

What we do know is that, while Saddam was in power Taliban could not get a foothold in Iraq. Now it is a primary recruitment ground.

Basically, thousands of our soldiers died, hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's, they're government is still shitty, we squandered billions of dollars, lost much of the trust of our allies in foreign affairs, and we created a brand new recruiting ground of terrorists.

It was one of the biggest mistakes in modern history.

The Iraq War was not justified because there was no probabble cause for this war to be established. A dispute involving governmental authority between two countries does not gives the other the authority or right to invade on other people's land (and i say this because forces were deployed to the middle east without the consent of the governmental body of Iraq).

This has provoked acts of terrorism against the people of the United States. This is why i say that acts of terrorism are not acts of religious violence but acts of poiltical, social and governmental disputes.

Side: NO/AGAINST

The war was not justified. It was a terrible mistake that cost the lives of American soldiers.
