This is a very debatable topic. there are two sides to this and one is the way the catholic church has portrayed mary which is as jesus' mother and the other is the Da Vinci Code secret which reveals that mary magdalen is jesus' wife.

both of these answers sound right if you didnt no any different... the real question is which one is correct.

my belief at the present time is that mary is jesus' wife. if you look at the painting by Da Vinci Code then you will see that in actual fact all of the "12" deciples are not all men. there is one women to our left of jesus.

according to myths and legends, mary is jesus' wife who was pregnant at the time of her death.

this means that the Catholic church have been doing this all the wrong way. the rightful sex to run the catholic church should be a female becuase when mary died, as the legend goes, she was pregnant.

While I do not believe Mary Magdalene was Jesus' mother I also do not believe she was Jesus' wife. John once said that she was "An Apostle to the Apostles" which indicates to me she cared for and followed all. I am a Protestant, a Lutheran, who was not taught to believe she was anything other than how she is depicted in the St. James version of the Bible, the woman who was possessed by demons that were cast out by Jesus (Luke 8:2) If, indeed, there is truth to the Catholic view, then I would tend to come down on the side that she may have been Jesus' wife or intimate partner.

Well. Call me contaversial or however u spell it.

But I beleive her to be BOTH his mother AND wife.

Simply because MAG-DE-LENE means GREAT LINE in Latin although others tend to prefer it means she came from magder or wherever.

Keeping blood pure was well important back in those days. The Roman Emperors did it as did Egyption farroes. Incest wasnt a bad thing for special boodlines back then (is it now?).

Anyhoo, since 'virgin' Mary was probably fertilized by her daddy or brother or uncle etc. The catholic church wouldnt want everyone knowing that would they. So they say 'God' put a baby in Mary therefor aswell as keeping the bloodline pure the lift the baby thus the family name into a higher standing than regular royalty.
