If you post on this side, it means that you agree with the statement below. You can pretty much say anything you want, regardless of how outrageous it is, as long as you say it with a smile or put a smiley at the end of text. If you post on the other side, it means that you do NOT agree with the statement above. ;) Side: True.
Yes, but that's actually true for any and all debate websites. And I'm not sure that's a bad thing. Philosophically, I think debaters should be able to say anything about anything. If you don't like it then make a better argument against it, or ignore them. The moment you start making some topic off limits or some opinions censored you lose the essence of what it means to debate. There should just be a basic disclaimer people have to sign when they join saying they understand and accept. And what I personally have learned during my tenure on Create Debate is it's primarily people from right wing viewpoints who choose to exercise their option to ban dissent. And if you disagree with me on that then demonstrate I'm wrong by continuing to debate with us instead of banning us. Side: True.

Ya don't even need a smiley here. The control and moderation of this site is so absent that anybody can say anything. No matter how outlandish or wrong or groundless or outrageous or vulgar. This site is bereft of even a modicum of enforcement of civil and courteous debate protocol. Every day here I see a post that would get its author banned or at least temporarily suspended on the debate site I used to moderate the science section for. I won't mention its name, since I think I have in the past. The most frustrating practice here--the one I would like to see punished--is for hijacking a thread. The numbskull religious wackos do it all the time. We can present good hard facts and science and they can insert a laughably inane bible tract in the thread. This practice is verboten in any moderated debate site. Side: Wait..., what? No!!!
