What are you doing for Valentine's Day?
Well all that goes without saying. But however it is always nice to make a day particularly special. I more or less consider it the celebration of love, and not just a day to show love or be loved. I see no issue with celebrating, even if the holiday is a corporate whore. It never stopped me from celebrating haloween or christmas, and I'm not even religious. And it is depressing not to participate to a degree. Most people would want to make something of that day, and that isn't an outlandish generalization. 1

My boyfriend and I decided when we first started dating that we wouldn't do Valentine's Day. It's a ridiculous "holiday". It's hardly about doing something for the one you love that's special, all it's about is buying them things. It's a holiday for advertisers and companies. And if you only treat your significant other special ONE day of the year, then you need to find someone who is worth treating special all year. |
