If there are ghosts, there is a god. Right? We cannot prove either, but if we were to assume there is, indeed, an after life, or that there are spirits, that basically proves the existence of god simultaneously. It would be automatically beneficial to assume there is a god if we can prove the existence of ghosts because we know there is an after life.... life that goes on forever. Why not "waste" your time here on earth praising a God, or learning about it, if you're going to live even after you die? My point is, if you can prove the existence of ghosts, you can safely assume, for once, that there is a god as well. That's my two cents, and I'm not even religious. Side: God
"We cannot prove either, but if we were to assume there is, indeed, an after life, or that there are spirits, that basically proves the existence of god simultaneously." You know what they say about assuming, right? Yeah, it was at this point that your argument fell apart. Ghosts could be the result of god, sure, but they could also be the result of a ghost creating machine held in the depths of the pentagon, or rips in space/time, or physical manifestations of memories, or any other of the infinite number of possibilities. Sorry, but ghosts don't prove god. Side: Ghosts
I know, ass u + me. I'm not saying my opinion holds truth, I even state that it's just an opinion. Like I've said, I'm not religious but I would be much more interested in it if we were to prove the existence of spirits. Not over the edge, and I would probably pick up Buddhism because it seems most reasonable beyond the part about spirits. It would be hilarious though, to know that ghosts were produced in the pentagon. Side: God
God has put it in our psyche, or maybe DNA to believe that there is something greater than we are. Go to the most primitive and the most advanced societies on earth, and you will notice that these two believe in something or someone greater than they. It's in our psyche. But if you don't believe in anything you will fall for everything. Side: God
I believe that god is everywhere, or at least some definition of god. If you are part of any religion (or have had exposure to religion). Friends of mine that say they don't believe in religion do believe in some sort of "higher being" or a god. Truthfully though, I also have had an experience that makes me believe in ghosts. Side: God

"Oh God" is just an expression. When you say "for fucks sake" you aren't really worrying about the sake of fuck, now are you? What is it with you theists that makes you think everyone believes in God at least a little. I and many others don't at all. There is no God and if I brought myself to believe in one I'd be delusional because I'd believe in something that doesn't exist. I suggest you start facing the fact that an atheist finds theist schizophrenic, just like an atheist seems lost to a devil to a theist. But an atheist doesn't believe in devils either, which makes you look even more crazy to one, if you thought they were influenced by a devil. Side: Ghosts
umm okay. . .gotta go with . . . In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. if there are ghosts. . .there is God. this is not a chicken or egg debate. . . if we exist afterlife (ghosts). . .a greater power exists. now I personally do not find the personification of God as an old white dude accurate. . .she is not amused. Side: God
"if there are ghosts. . .there is God. " Like I said to someone else, assuming that there being ghosts means god is real is incorrect. It only holds true if your speculation on what a ghost is holds true. All we know of ghosts (or the idea of ghosts) is that they are some kind of unexplainable physical manifestation. Whether they are trapped souls living in the afterlife is purely speculation. Side: Ghosts

Wow, some very good points made on the god side for a change... Of course they were made by, 1. an agnostic, 2. another who says in his very statement "I'm not even religious," 3. and another who was just making a funny joke. Impressive none the less considering the worthless patter eminating from the "I know god is real because I really really really think he's real," and the schitzos who think they've seen him/her/whatever. But there's absolutely no reason that the existance of an afterlife means that there necessarily has to be a god (the only arguement worth argueing on the other side) just like the existance of a life doesn't necessarily mean there has to be a god. I mean, I don't think there's such a thing as ghosts, in spite of some pretty convincing episodes of Ghost Hunters. But it's not physically impossible as far as anyone knows, any more so than the existance of a god is physically impossible. The difference though is that we know humans exist now, all it takes is a dead one to turn into something else, POOF! you have a ghost (or zombie I guess, you get the point though I think.) God on the other hand, where the hell would he have come from? Side: Ghosts
At least there is some photographic "evidence" for the existence of ghosts, questionable though it may be. Side: Ghosts
lol well I said it was questionable. Also, I'd like to add that I find the idea of undead spirits highly unlikely. I mean, imagine for a moment that the "souls of the dead" really do roam the earth. The current population of the earth is about 6.5 Billion people. That's just this generation. If all the souls of the dead were still around for every human that died, the spirit world would be elbow to elbow. Side: Ghosts

This is a tough one. Science says that neither one exists. I have never seen G_d. I have seen , smelled, felt and heard what I think you are calling ghosts. Religion...is it an illusion that one hopes for? Do we wish it so much that we believe it? Are we taught it as children so we accept it? I think any belief is just that. It doesn't make it wrong and it doesn't make right. Humans need hope. it is the only thing that separates us from the primates....well that and the ability to accessorize...LOL G_d is good and ghosts as you call then can be too. SO, I am sitting on the fence with this one...If I had to vote...I would vote for ghosts Side: booooooooooooooooo

My brother made a connection with the Big Bang Theory with the creation of the universe by God. The Big Bang Theory started out as a tiny ball of energy that exploded, making everything, including us, by that energy. If you replace the ball of energy with God, and since we were made in God's image, we were made by the ball of energy, aka God. Side: God
