What do you think are the key technologies/developments that will bring us into

I'm finding it rather difficult to express my question, but I can provide some examples of others ages.

The development of the steam engine; the utilisation of coal; invention of trains and railways, brought us the industrial era. Computers, electricty and many other factors brought us this "modern" era, what would you consider to be the key ideas and inventions that will be the sign of a new era for mankind. It could be something that has been invented or you assume could be invented, things that will cause such a large amount of change that it will lead to great social and economic change as humanity has to adapt to new ideas.

The 3-D Printer - This has already been invented and I believe it will bring us to Industrial Era II, all that it takes is to be able to 'print' with different materials and you will have no more need for factories as everything could be 'printed'.

The Fall of Religion - While I wouldn't agree with this, I fear it may be coming. Religion has been and the core of communities for millennia and even in this day an age I witness it being rejected and ejected by society without any sort of standard alternative to take it's place, aside from basic humanism.

However I won't claim that the fall of religion is inevitable, but I admit that it is highly likely. I just hope I'm not around to see it happen.

I really hope in fall of religions, they did so much damage, it's like a plague poisoning minds.

And yet they did so much good.

Perhaps you mean the fall of organized religion, which will be a positive change for our society. Right now our religions are based upon thoughts on reality from thousands of years in the past. With our new findings in science, the wisest among humanity can revisit it and bring us some thoughts on reality in our vernacular. The problem isn't the fact people believe in things, it's the fact they worship idols and remain close minded. Religion is the subset of knowledge which is guessed. It's the cracks in science we can never fill. To act as though someone knows what is in the cracks without ever revising their ideas is foolish.

Advancements in processing power make almost anything possible. It will be un-believable what we will be able to do by 2025.

What do you mean by advancements in processing power? I'm rather confused about the implications of it.

When computers get more powerful, they can be down-sized, so they can be placed into more things and have more applications. More processing power also means that computers will be able to complete more tasks more quickly. It is becoming a reality that people can ask their phones a question and the phone will respond. The options are endless.

Nanobots having the ability to make humans practically immortal that may or may not actually work.
