What do you think of Google Chrome?

How will the new browser fare against the host of web browsers we already have?

Here's the Google comicbook overview of Chrome: Google Chrome

The concepts behind Chrome are really awesome. Plus it's open source, which means developers can hop on easily.

I've had a good play around with Chrome, and as far as an early release Beta goes, I'm pretty damn impressed.

The speed of the JavaScript engine is fantastic (although Mozilla claims their upcoming JavaScript engine will be quicker). I love tabs being seperate processes with different memory spaces: fantastic idea. WebKit is a solid browser base, apart from the carpet bombing flaw that they haven't yet fixed. Incognito (read: porn mode) works very well too. Obviously, it's open sourced too.

I hope that their implimentation of plug-ins is a solid as Firefox's and that they fix their EULA, which currently states that Google own the whole internets. If so I may have to make the switch perminently.

Love it, Flying browsing speed, I am using it all the time unfortunately some sites are still not recognizing chrome and keep sending you back to IE or the other browsers.

The minimal design is nice. I like the in-page search location indications in the scroll bar gully - I can't remember where they stole that from. I'll stick with Opera until they bring it to linux.

(They seriously ripped off Opera.)

It is a good program that has very user friendly features. It also runs ( on my comp ) faster than internet explorer. So all in all I think that it is a good web browser.

I do prefer Firefox more, but it beats IE8. It should swim.

Being so late to the market it will be compared to more mature products, fairly or unfairly that is a handicap. I like it but its nothing great and the only benefit I can notice is speed which is only meaningful if using the browser with web apps. A normal page can take 2 or 1.5 seconds to load, doesn’t make a difference to me. Web apps themselves are not there yet in my opinion so a review of Chrome will have to wait for web apps…if that make sense.

When I use my laptop, the side of the touchpad acts as a scroll wheel. In chrome, I can only scroll down very fast and cannot scroll up at all. I can't use it because of this, which is too bad because other than that I liked it.

I've had the exact same problem with my laptop, although I'm pretty sure that Google could easily fix that issue.

Hah! I bet they could. Maybe I'll invite them over! Heh, nah, just kidding. I'm sure they will patch it or something. Probably something I could fix now even, but doubleclicking firefox is so much easier. :D

It doesn't have extensions!!! x_x

Although the current state of affairs seems poised to change sometime, someday, somehow, somewhere... Google Chrome Will Support Addons

Way too many pages to read. Was that their manual?

So the program is no good because you didn't like/finish the little comic about it?
