Some people, I'm afraid, should Not have the right to vote. Maybe people should pass a test before allowed to place a vote for the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. Then again, our rights would be trespassed. Sad, it truly is. I know a lot of Obama supporters are not like this, but what about the ones that are? There votes count the same. No wonder democrats want prisoners to vote! They prey on the clueless. Obama has plenty of reasons to actually vote for him. Why would anyone just go with the color of his skin, and CHOOSE to not be informed.

Unfortunately we cannot base the right to vote on the I.Q. of people or their lack of information. One would think that in this election, particularly, people are more informed than ever before because of what's out there on the information highway. Not to worry though, the ignorance is well spread over both candidates voters. I wish I could remember who put up the video that was taken at a picnic or something similar out in Ohio! That was quite a goodie...talk about being uninformed....Sheesh! Also, can you point me toward something that speaks to the portion about Democrats wanting prisoners to vote? I'd love to read that!

I've included some of the related links, but am having trouble finding the initial article. I'll add it if I find it... It makes since though. Democrats have always been somewhat more lenient on prisoners that republicans, and if you can give them the right to vote you have both the teacher's union and the prisoner population!

I truly believed that this election in particular would at the very least cause a mass amount of people to become informed on politics. I would love to see the Ohio video. I am sure there are people out there on the republican side just as clueless, but I have yet to find a link for them. The Sarah Palin comment should have been a dead giveaway! I suppose I can't even begin to understand how someone who has the privilege of voting throws away the meaning by picking the one who "looks more educated". Appalling.

Dumb people are everywhere. It doesn't reflect specifically on Obama or McCain. It reflects more about the 'average' person than anything else. I'd like to see the same done, but in reverse, here in Texas. I bet it'd be a real eye-opener.

I believe this is the same video that was in another debate recently...the one where Shockey Jockey sends "Sal" up to Harlem to interview people about Obama. Harlem is THE Afro-American section of New York City. This is certainly not a cross section of voters but a pointed and unfair representation of what Howard Stern does and how he does it. This explanation in no way forgives the ignorance of the people whose snippets made it into the show. A Howard Stern presentation must be taken with a huge grain of Kosher salt (Not a slur, Kosher salt does have larger grains!)because of who and what he represents. I'm certain you can go anywhere in this land and find pockets of people who are equally as uninformed as these people, and on both candidates. One can only hope that when it comes time to vote next week, they vote for the right person, whomever that might be!

Indeed true. I didn't mean for this to be directly targeted at the Obama supporters. I just thought it was shocking to see how uninformed voters were. If this had been in McCain's case I would have still posted the debate.

Side: Not an accurate representation

Absolutely, and as well you should have no matter what or whom. No one is ever offended by a great debate topic!

I don't think that this is an accurate representation of the whole populace, but I do believe these voters are clueless. HOWEVER, I think that the exact same thing could be done in the south with white voters for McCain. You have to show both sides of the voters, and then make the conclusion about voters in general, not just one side. A small sampling is still indicative of nothing- any poll needs at least 33% to be deemed credible as a correlative relationship in political science, and over 50% in other sciences. Ignorance is apparent on both sides, but be aware that the American people elected to have a democracy where EVEryone votes, so we reap what we sow. C'est la vie.
