The only way this is an issue is if he is officially removed from office, by the Senate, after election season kicks off. This is unlikely given that the articles were just delivered and formal impeachment proceedings are about to start. Unlikely for them to last 10 months. And that's beside the fact good ole Mitch is gonna defend his boi regardless of the facts and evidence... so big orange boi isn't even going to be removed at the end of the day. -_- Side: He CAN'T serve
If he is convicted he can't LEGALLY, hold another office "of trust". I dunno …. if he WAS re-elected it would be because some REALLY underhanded electoral shenanigans went on …. and the Presidency would no longer BE an "office of trust", soooo, it would mean little. As such he CAN run and hold office. In my view, the Senate can only render a judgment of "removal" from office.
