Tanks are made of thick steel, but how do you reckon that zombies suddenly have the ability to climb 15 ft tall trucks? Most people can't climb 15 ft even with cognitive abilities.
Monster trucks are prone to spin upside down when travelling on bumpy ground (running over zombies) and at high speeds. What was once 15ft is then an inch from the ground.
Why would there be any need to travel faster than 15 mph or less in the monster truck? 15 MPH is fast enough to crush anything in its path, plus decrease the chances of spinning upside down. Heck, the driver may not even need to push the accelerator since coasting may be adequate.
If there was a bumpy terrain or traffic filled motorway, again, go slow, look for to go around it or back track. Nothing remotely will be a danger being 15ft in the air unless running out of gas, but the tanks this same danger. The tank will have some difficulty driving over all the cars as well.
I was aware of that tanks don't run out of gas. Tanks have just as bad fuel economy than monster trucks maybe even worse. Since when can zombies climb, they have no cognitive abilities, they are brain dead.
Tanks have no windows, so once the zombies fail to see human beings after an hour they would simply lose interest and assume the humans have disappeared. In fact why would they see humans in the first place, as far as they're concerned it's just a large lump of inedible metal that's running over them.
On the other hand, Monster trucks have windows. Zombies can see humans inside and will climb over one another until they get the humans.
Granted, tanks are windowless, but monster trucks are 15 ft tall, how are the zombies going to see them? Assuming that they will able to see humans is giving the zombies way too much credit.
Let's suppose you're in the city, there are buildings zombies in the buildings a least a couple of floors high would be able to see humans in the truck, when they give chase other zombies would figure out that it's something worth chasing.
If a zombie would spot humans from a high building even level with the monster truck, all this would result is those zombies making chase from the building and falling spat onto the concrete road.
Either way, there is a risk of being seen and pursued successfully, a risk that doesn't exits if you were driving a tank. So I'ld rather drive the tank.
May not have mobility, but it does have strength. Can fire upon incoming enemies and zombies, while the monster truck would just flow them over but maybe get stck in mud. A tank is all terrain.
Yeah... because of it's threads... catterpillar threads are good on most terrain but can it go on solid ice, and if you're good in inventing, you can just make special snow tires or better offroad tires
I think the tank would probably be my choice so I could run over all the zombies and just squish them. Also you could fire your missle to far away ranges.
Okay... No offence to any existent Zombie but, Zombies are kinda dumb. So I believe that a monster truck would also be a good idea but with a tank I'd feel safer deep inside and kill a lot of zombies in one go altogether.
Tanks have defense and offensive weapons, they are made for war so whats a few zombies to it? A monster truck isn't going to last very long, to tall and in-accessible (compared to a tank).
Weapons built into it, no windows to smash, no tires to puncture and armor plating. Even if you don't get to kill any zombies, at least they won't get to you.
The tank would definitely be better since it was designed for combat situations. It can easily rain bullets or shells down on the zombies before they can get close. If they do get close, the tank could easily run them over.
Modern day tanks have great maneuverability and move about 40 mph, weighing about 90 tons per unit. The armor is impenetrable to almost all weapons, even nuclear ones, so it can't be damaged by zombies. Supplies are always carried with the tank, so it can be easily repaired.
Overall, the Monster Truck can't hope to match the superiority of any Main Battle Tank.
A tank can't withstand the full power of a nuclear bomb or missile. heck, but it can withstand a missile but we aren't talking about a zombie that can use a gun, are we?
Monster truck tires are 66 inches high and 43 inches wide. The tank would be stuck in the hoard of zombies while the height of the tires and truck will easy pass a herd of zombies without weaponry.
Lol dude monster truck is better :) You need less oil and a monster truck is basically a giant jeep, so you have mobility. Also finding tank ammo is very hard unless you go to a military base. Monster truck is big and tall with great mobility, but if 100 zombies pushed the monster truck it could fall? IDK, but I would choose monster truck realistically.
The fight or flight system of our bodies is kinda flawed... and just look at the gears of the tanks... if you got something hard between them, you'll get stuck as well as the trucks's metal grids. I would rather flight at first then fight later when I got some better guns
DUDES WAKE UP!!!!!!! its a TANK it can crush or blow anything up into pieces , WHICH IS A GOOD THING when your escaping A HORDE OF ZOMBIES......AND IT HAVE A LOT OF FIREPOWER!!!!!!
Tank. You can just close and latch the top hatch, then it is pretty impossible for them to get in. They can just crawl through the window of the truck if they get up to it. I would still rather have something like and AC-130 instead though.
do you think that a zombie apocalypse is a war. Yeah, it's a war but not that kind of war. Zombies are dumb and you do not need to have a high defense, you just need to out wit them
It depends on the types of ship. If it is a nuclear powered cruiser, it could last a good 50 years before maintenance. Food would be fished/grown. Water would be filtered.
Just because the format lists two choices does not mean we are limited to those two. There is nothing in the description to suggest I cannot answer the actual question posted by this debate (other than the format which is not part of the description).
Yes, it is a vehicle. But do you really think that you know how to drive it and how can you get back to earth without any help, you need coordinates, weather information before landing
It would depend on the scenario. A space station can be entirely self sustained, essentially an orbital colony.
You are not considering the maintenance required for land vehicles. There is a lot of wear on tank treads and monster truck tires. There is also a lot of wear on any movable part.
Depends on the scenario... the scenario is perfectly clear, it's a zombie apocalypse and we all are just civilians... isnt it clear enough for you or do I have to explain it again
Where does it say we are all civilians? It just asks for the best vehicle. You are adding your own ideas to it just like I am adding my own. There is also nothing to suggest that a civilian won't have a smaller ship. There also millionaires and billionaires with their own spaceships.
Like I said, that is only because of the format. The question itself does not ask us to choose between a tank and a truck. It also does not suggest that we are alone, so a tank or truck is fine (technically, one person can drive a tank, don't need weapons). You are adding a lot of your own ideas to this debate and limiting open discussion.
Weaponry shouldn't be a primary concern for a vehicle, especially since the tank's will be almost impossible to replenish and it won't be as effective on zombies. Also I'm pretty sure the fuel would be a problem, too, even more so than for the monster truck.
A vehicle should move fast, be fuel-efficient, and not get stuck. I think even the monster truck would be too big, especially if you were trying to get around in a big city, but it has that advantage over the tank, too.
Although the tank has the weaponry, the monster truck has the mobility and speed. The giant tires of the monster truck will serve as great weaponry running over a very large herd of zombies whereas the tank may get stuck and lose mobility.
You all in the tanks side are idiots, how can a civilian drive a modern tank without any experience... and how can you get in it without the right key or some kind of a way to get in when you can just upgrade the monster truck's armor, and tell me, if you've run out of ammo, how can you replenish it if you're in the middle of the city... be practical and start thinking for once
a monster truck because it could ran over the zombies and u could add stuff or wepeonry to the back and kill the zombies and they cant get up the truck
I would rather drive away from zombies than fight them, however I think that this debate could greatly change based on the terrain which you are driving upon.
this shouldn't even be a debate, tanks are slow and take more gas, the key to a zombie apocalypse is speed and resource savings. monster truck has both compared to tank, plus is suspended in air away from zombies. if one zombie gets in a tank, no escape, in a monster truck climb out the other door. Id only take a tank to take it into the mountain and bury it with nothing above ground but the hatch half hidden as a night fortress, but since the debate is what vehicle it implies vehicular functions rather than shelter. so what would i rather have: tank, but what would i rather run around in": monster truck.
I would have to go with the Monster Truck given the two choices, but I would prefer a toy hauler RV with bullet proof glass, a hydrogen fuel cell (powered by water), a stocked mini bar, a shower, LCD TV with Bluray player, and lots of room for weapons!
