What is the worst invention ever?
I've seen a debate for the best invention ever, but I want to know what the worst one is. It could be something in physical form, such as a gun, or it could be non-physical, such as religion.

Wow, I didn't know what the hell a fried twinkie was until I googled it. My God, you Americans sure don't ease the stereotypes do you? I'm joking of course, us Brits are no better. I'd say there are worse inventions though. Humanity isn't gonna tear itself apart over a fried twinkie. Side: Fried Twinkies
Lol, no, you're not joking. Walk down any city street or go to any Walmart in the U.S. and you will be disgusted by the mass of vomitous fat humanity rolling around their own filth. It is truly sickening. But I guess fried twinkies likely won't be the death of all humanity... chocolate chip pancake sausage on a stick just might be though ;) Side: Fried Twinkies

I am not anti-education, I am against everything that endorses itself. Hate the Oscars, and all the actors and actresses patting themselves on the back for being over paid. I am against any group or organization that closes it's doors to others merely because of social status.
I am against management making more than those that actually do work. I am against those that cannot think and simply hang on to the words of others, because they have no words of their own. I am against fat cats, while people starve. I am against those born with a silver spoon, promoter of the under-dog. Shall I continue? “He that best understands the world, least likes it.” Ben Franklin “Blind respect for authority is the greatest enemy of truth.” Einstein Side: universities

I'm going to go with marriage. The idea of it instills unreasonable expectations in both boys and girls (moreso girls). Furthermore, as an institution, it unfairly rewards monogamy (and in many places still, heterosexuality) both via tangible benefits provided to those who are married and via sanctions imposed when a marriage is terminated. A significant (though not majority) portion of both men and women are not naturally monogamous (or heterosexual, where applicable) and thus cannot receive the tangible benefits. Given that everyone changes over time, it's generally unrealistic to expect a relationship to last forever. The divorce rate is HIGH; marriages that last 30+ years are impressive because they rarely last that long. Imposing sanctions on a failed relationship simply because it's recognized as such by the government is unfair and inappropriate. It's a system that is fair only to those who are monogamous (heterosexual in many places) and able to actually find someone that they can be happy with for the remainder of their lifespan- those who fall under all three of these are a minority. Other that that very small demographic, it is extremely unfair to both those who are included and those who are excluded.
Ironically, I myself am married, and happy about it too. Side: universities
