Whenever an american says "the world", he is talking about only America. Many Americans don't know and care what goes on beyond America. There are several picture tags on this website indicating it was specificially designed for American issues. To the designer, that is the whole world. Even when signing up, there are certain features that clearly indicates it's mostly targeted at Americans. Fine it's an American website but why does it try to make it look like it's for the "reality whole world"? I think the sign up should be done with an American Citizenship identification card info perhaps. Because i am really alien to this "delusional whole world". I will need to go over the 'about' of this site Maybe, I should create another such website for my continent sometime next year.....cool, yeah? When I joined a few years back the site was totally different with a great selection of topics posted up daily , the last few months it's gone boring as hell as I'm sick and tired of American politics. I agree with your points Jeffrey and that's a good idea as in a site for your own continent 1

Jeffrey, I know we've had many disagreements on this site, but I completely agree with you on this. I've seen several debaters trying to make specifically American issues relate to the whole world. For example, those who criticise "liberals" when what they actually mean is the American Democrat party and their supporters, or those who criticise "conservatives" when they mean Republicans. 1

Short memories and/or a lack of knowledge about recent historical events are usually the cause for such statements based on blind ignorance. America, with significant aid from the the U.K, won WW2. The Ruskies couldn't have beaten Germany if there hadn't been a second front. Without American know-how, wherewithal and outstanding political and military leadership there wouldn't have been any 2nd front. It was American resolve and military might which kept an aggressive and expansionist Russia from expanding its communist empire beyond the ''appropriated'' nations of eastern Europe further west. It was the ''Yanks' who kicked the 'all conquering' Japanese all the way back to Tokyo at tremendous sacrifice of American lives and materials. It was American financial aid under the ''Marshall Plan'' which helped to alleviate the severity of hardship for European civilians after the war and helped to re-establish its decimated industrial base. Presently it is American military and industrial power which is keeping a, limited, check on a belligerent and expansionist China from ''appropriating'' large tracts of land and seas which heretofore have been regarded as international territories. America is the mainstay in N.A.T.O. which was an organization established to protect ''EUROPE', but in the absence of the European nations being able or willing to provide the necessary funding and development of a meaningful military deterrent is is the Yanks who have to fill this dangerous void. Under the inertia of the Obama administration we saw both Russia and China Sabre rattling and annexing such countries as the Ukraine, and areas of the China sea. In cases of natural disasters such as crop failures in Africa or devastation caused by extreme weather it is the United States of America who is first on the scene with financial and material aid. America gas thrown the U.K., a promise of a trade deal after its departure from the E.U. This gesture was, and is, most welcome during this time of economic uncertainty. AND YOU SAY AMERICANS DON'T CARE ABOUT WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE REST OF THE WORLD!!!!!! That's not what he was actually saying, if you had read the OP. He was saying that MANY Americans aren't interested in the rest of the world. Not the elite or those in power who have vested interests in what happens outside the USA, but the average American on a site like this one. We aren't talking about the people who offer the UK gas, or keep a check on China. Those aren't the everyday Americans writing debate after debate and hypocritically belittling those who don't understand American issues because well, those people aren't American. I have seen many a site where most people assume you to be American and are very surprised when they find out you aren't because "everyone's American on the Internet". Considering the number of very samey US-centric arguments on here, this site is not much of an exception. 1

This is an American debate site and is why it has been successful. What you can't stand is listening to the conservative thought on this debate site. You hate it! You are intolerant if it and threaten to leave it just as Liberals threatened to move out of America if Trump won. PLEASEEEEEEE LEAVE! But of course the Liberals did not leave America. They are reaping al the rewards from America and will never leave to the dead economies of socialist Europe. Socialistic European politics is as dead and boring as it gets and is the reason we see no interest is failed Liberal european debate sites. I have found that the most ignorant insulting hate filled debaters live in socialist Europe. They are angry Liberals who have no tolerance for America or it's politics. America has been the greatest nation in the history of the world. They ushered in freedom and power to the people and have kept every other democracy safe from the spread of communism. Nations in europe owe their freedom to America's military might but will never give us that credit. Europe refuses to pay their fair share of military spending to help defray some of the costs to America for defending their freedoms. Europe is made up of a bunch of Liberal socialists who hate America's capitalistic success. Europe is jealous of America's wealth and freedoms and refuses to thank or lift up all that America does in protecting other nation's freedoms. Please do leave America's debate site, and spend your time on boring dead European debate sites. You are here for one reason and that is because you have no where else to go. America always leads the way and why we garner all the attention from others around the world. Liberal socialists such as Obama did their best to transfrom America to yet one more dead socialistic european nation. They have created millions more government dependents who make careers out of living off tax payers. Europe is jealous over America's safety from terrorism rampant in Europe. They are angry that American is not moronic enough to be so lacks on Muslim refugees from dangerous nations. Europe is living the nightmare of the growing Muslim population in their nations, and are becoming war zones as we see in most Muslim nations. They want America to have the same problems as they are having from bleeding heart moronic refugee and immigration policies. It's all jealousy as usual. The site is better if you make all the trolls disappear, but unfortunately the trolls have made most of the serious debaters leave, so you're unlikely to find much serious debate here. Crazy AL if an Obama win turned a debate site to a right wing site then a Trump win has now turned a debate site into a left wing site. Yes, there is one on one debating available. Just select a "Challenge debate"! The content of the site is a direct reflection on the current mindset and political landscape. Since the US has so many issue with its political landscape, that is why so many debates are focused that direction. Only YOU can change it one debate at a time. From the perspective of a newer member: I do get the feeling that this site's glory days are ending, and I've missed the party. I think it might just be a lack of new & serious members though. Perhaps the site just needs more advertising (hint-hint website owners...put adds on sites where people who like philosophy will go). New people = new ideas = better debates. As an example, I feel like when I came here about a month ago I had some debate ideas which hadn't been bought up much - though I could be wrong. It seems a lot of the older residents here aren't making many new debates themselves, except for the ridiculous ones that nobody participates in. I think all the site needs is new people with new ideas. I agree that debates about (especially US) politics are very boring. That's not what I came here for - you can get that anywhere. Another thing is, I don't think you should need an account to place an argument, as there's always about 30 guests/non-members on the site (shown on home page) and they probably would say more if they didn't have to take the time to make an account. I know it only takes a minute, but it's an unnecessary barrier. I hope this website's owners see this debate and do something. Maybe they could actively remove silly debates, and actively create interesting ones? Just some thoughts. Maybe it's not,but it's what I'm saying. I know exactly the point that he was making but we must be mindful that this is an American site whose participants are American with concerns about American affairs. Do you feel the Yanks, or the Brits for that matter should be interested about the events happening in Ballinamallard, Stenhousemuir or Wookey Hole? (it would be helpful if you quote me before disputing something I said, for clarity) Fair enough that this is an american site, it's just that I don't think the debates should be so much about politics full stop. It's okay to have political debates, but everyone must be getting sick of 'Trump did this, Trump did that,' just a bit boring. I've been feeling the same way but I don't think I'll leave just yet. Every so often you get a gem of a debate and it makes it worth it. But it is tiring seeing the SAME debate after same debate after same debate. Not everything is a Conservative Vs. Liberal but there are enough people to where that's all they can talk about. So boring. Still, there are some that are worth staying around for. What's happening to Create Debate ? Create Debate used to be a great debate site with some great debates and debaters covering all sorts of topics , lately it's really gone downhill and has morphed into a site which is flooded with debate after boring debate on American politics and very little else . It's time to bid this once great site goodbye , does anyone else feel the same way ? See you later and who is going to miss you ?
