What should happen to this man?

This is Laszlo Csizsik-Castray. He is a 98 year old former Nazi police commander charged with war crimes, for abusing and torturing Jews, and also for having overseen the deportation of Jews to Auschwitz. He is supposedly alleged to have aided in the murder of 15,700 Jews.

Should this man face a Czechoslovakian court where in theory he should have to face the death penalty, or should he be left alone to die elsewhere?

Just thought I would make a somewhat unorthodox debate ( excuse the poor-taste-pun.)

( Also thought the picture might grab some attention..!)

Throw him in a fucking pit twice his height and let it serve as a public restroom.

No matter his age, no matter how regretful he is, he should face an international court for his war crimes and be sentenced for the crimes he's allegedly committed. If they warrant the death penalty so be it!

For the magnitude of crimes against humanity he allegedly contributed to, he should face a court! There is no statute of limitations for these kinds of bloodthirsty, evil acts!

Also, his lesson would serve as an example to every member, every despot in the world. It would serve as a learning experience to every other human being who has murder on his mind: If you murder someone, don't expect to avoid being punished for it. Justice will chase you down and you will be punished for it!

He is accused of intentionally killing many, many innocent civilians (more than 15,000) - both adults and young children. I'm sorry, but that means something. Punishment is necessary.

I'm sure the quiet old man is now calling out to God for mercy - the mercy he never offered to any of his agonizing victims! He wanted to construct a horrible world for mankind, and now - decades later - he will be paying a price for it.

(Hmmm . . . Europe doesn't have the death penalty, so I don't think he'll receive that sentence.)

Should this man face a Czechoslovakian court

Uhhh... How is this even possible? Have you Europeans finally invented a time machine and you're holding out on us?

Ja, I was tired when I wrote this. A Czech Republic court.

Oh that sucks... I hoped you guys had created a time machine.

Left alone. Not because I don't support the death penalty (Because I do) and not because at his age he's likely to die of natural causes anyway. Instead he should be left alone because I see the death penalty as less of a punishment, and more of a permanent withdrawal from society. A killer that can't be rehabilitated, and is very likely to murder again deserves the death penalty, not some elderly man who probably won't be killing anyone else, who also only did the killings he's accused of, in a hectic time of war.

Well said sir. Apart from the 'I agree with the death penalty bit', but that's just my opinion..!

Side: Left alone

He is going to check out soon so.

If I'm not mistaken this guy was only a corporal at the time, no? This man only did what he was told to do. You can't just say, "No, I'm not going to send these Jews away" because you would have gone with them! This man should be left alone.

His superiors that over watched this should have been executed. And they were back in the 1940's and 50's.

I disagree. Laszlo Csizsik-Castray signed up to work under the Nazi regime. He enjoyed being promoted in rank and enjoyed the fruits that came with his service. He is therefore completely culpable for the murderous actions of his government that he willingly participated in.

If he has any regrets now, he should have done more to protest the actions of his government! But he didn't; he served willingly and enjoyed the benefits.

He is guilty and is culpable in the criminal behavior he participated in--which directly led to the deaths of thousands!

Ok, in that case I don't believe this was the corporal I was talking about.

However, just throwing this out there, in World War 2 in Germany, just about EVERYONE was a Nazi.

He's becoming part of the history already , and according to the past it is best to left them along as it is , besides killing them won't resurrect all those victims they've killed .

Say , you want them to answer their crime ? Alright , but to whom they answer to ?

Most people who anticipated world war II were dying out anyway , and it's not their fault that their leaders wants to wage this war (Like , they're soldiers and the only thing they can do is to follow orders) .

I am against the death penalty but I he still must be kept accountable for his actions. In casu : he must be prosecuted in principle. This is if proven that he is beyond all reasonable the man that was responsible for these atrocities.

It was a different time back then. Punishment should happen but not death.

What exactly were you going for with this statement? Are you comparing what he did to an ant eater's survival?

I'm sitting on the fence here so I'm going to quote Ghandi: An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth leaves the world blind and toothless.
