What was everyone's opinion on the March 15th walkout, and if you participated, why?

I participated in the walkout to mourn those lost. It wasn't really about gun control for me. I'm just interested to hear everyone's side of the now nationwide debate on the issue.

In 2015, 10,265 people died in alcohol-impaired driving crashes, accounting for nearly one-third (29%) of all traffic-related deaths in the United States.

So you tell me with each child dying from a drunk driver, why the Left is not all over the media pretending to be outraged over these innocent children's deaths? Do you have any idea how many more children are killed by drunk drivers than by guns in schools?

Where is the outrage and demand for alcohol regulations and back ground checks in public bars, nightclubs, etc.

If the real reasons for more gun control legislation is to save lives, why won't the Left propose laws mandating back ground checks in public places that sell alcohol to possible repeat DWI offenders?

I don't want this, but if your goal is to save lives with all your anti Gun rhetoric, you should be over joyed to save many thousands more lives by having background checks on people before buying alcohol in public places.

Do you have any idea how many times repeat DWI drivers continue to drink and drive? Approximately 40% of drunk drivers are repeat offenders! They drive even when their licenses are revoked!

The only way to prevent this is to do a background check before they buy that weapon of death.....ALCOHOL!

Wait, what you say? You say you don't want to be inconvenienced by background checks when buying alcohol? You say you are a law abiding citizen who would never drink and drive?

You say you don't want to pay more for alcohol to pay for those background checks for past DWI drivers?

I THOUGHT YOUR GOAL WAS TO SAVE LIVES? You expect law abiding citizens to pay more and put up with all the inconvenience from your anti gun legislation, but when it comes to your alcohol...... HANDS OFF?

A drunk driver behind the wheels of a car happens millions of times more often than some lunatic with a gun! The odds of you or your loved one being killed by a drunk driver is far higher than the odds of being shot at a concert or Church.

You are hypocrites and total jokes. You prove you could not care less about saving lives. You final goal is to take our guns.

You always spew your ludicrous reasoning why only guns should be singled out to save lives. A police state is just fine as long as it only controls one particular weapon of death..... the gun.

You say we already have alcohol restrictions? Yes, and we already have gun restrictions. You can't buy a gun under age, the same as alcohol. We can't shoot people, you can't hunt near public places and you can not drink and drive. BUT PEOPLE STILL DO IT!

IT'S NOT THE WEAPON OF CHOICE, BUT THE PERSON BEHIND THAT WEAPON. Use the brain God gave you and start addressing why people grow up to be criminals, or become irresponsible drinkers who have no problem drinking and driving.

Start addressing the core problem instead of their weapon of choice.

Hi FromWithin.

You keep making the point about drunken drivers, but you're not comparing like with like.

Driving under the influence, or drunk in charge of a vehicle is a criminal offence.

Owning a legally licensed firearm is not.

The prime purpose of manufacturing, and for owning a motorized vehicle is for transport.

The entire argument for more gun control, according to the Left, is suppose to be about saving innocent lives. This is what they keep telling us.

In most murders, it should actually have nothing to do with the weapon of choice, but rather what created this killer and why.

This is no difference then what Drunk drivers choose to do with alcohol and their car. Just as with the gun, a car is quite safe in the hands of law abiding safety conscious people.

Target shooting is a sport and has nothing to do with killing people. Having a gun to protect our homes is all about being a deterrent and keeping our families safe from criminals who would have no problem getting illegal guns.

Yes, driving drunk is a crime, and murdering people is a crime. The weapon used has little to do with the issue.

When you mix alcohol with a car, you have created a dangerous weapon.

It's amazing how for thousands of years, we have most times not blamed the weapon used in crimes, whether it be a club, a knife, a gun, a fire, a bomb, a truck, etc. etc.

We blamed the killer no matter his weapon of choice. What has changed? POLITICS!

Today, Socialists, Dictators, Communists must take the guns from their citizens in order to more easily control them. This is why Europe, Arab nations, dictatorships, etc. etc do not allow their citizens to own guns. A gun balances the playing field and makes it harder for Government law enforcement to control the people.

To single out the one weapon (the gun) that balances the playing field, is the true reasons why controlling Governments want to take our guns.

Like I said in my last post, if it were about saving lives, they would be screaming for background checks in places before selling alcohol because many more children are killed by drunk drivers.

When your child starts driving, do you fear a mass killer with a gun more than a drunk driver? I think not.

I hope the anti-gun movement continues to grow until assault weapons (or should I say Deer rifles as the NRA pretends they are) are gone gone gone.

Sheep can't fight the wolf because of the raw tools the wolf has at its disposal. This will become you and the government.

The wolf has more tools as it is, the sheep are so stupid they vote to have even less.

You see, what defines a criminal is that they don’t follow the law. Some don’t follow drug laws etc. What by any stretch of the imagination makes you think that criminals will follow gun laws? THEY WON’T!!! If a criminal has a gun but also a law-abiding citizen, the shooting or crime can be stopped with one shot. For example, their was just a shooting in Maryland that was stopped by a cop with an AR-15. If they are made illegal, criminals will smuggle guns into the country just as if they would do with drugs and carry out a shooting without any resistance. AR-15 are the same is any other gun besides that they are black and have a pistol grip (which doesn’t do anything to affect for fast, hard, efficient they shoot.) I hope this helps on why gun control is only going to make things worse. Maybe I even stated the facts well enough that you will switch over to the smart side! Thanks!

I am open for any questions/comments you have

Go NRA

I didn’t. I support the victims and their family’s. And some of the new laws, but not all. That was one reason. Second reason, practically everyone out their (with the exception of a few) were out there to play around. Not to support the victims or lobby for more rights.

It was true that some of the people thought it silly to simply stand out to honor the families. It irritated me as well that most didn't take it seriously if they chose to participate.

Kids often behave like children. I have no doubt that had the miscreants themselves

experienced the horror of a school shooting they'd have been taking it more seriously.

Just because they didn't all take it as seriously as they might have doesn't detract from

the efforts of the heroic kids who've courageously launched a movement that hopefully will

save countless lives in the future.
