I think what he was trying to say was, what if you died, went to the afterlife, and realized that you believed God to be something he is not? Like, what if God did not care about homosexuality and religion? What if everyone goes to the same place after they die? Side: They would make up a excuse

That would depend on the nature of the afterlife. If there is no afterlife, then they would stop judging people, if only by default. If there is a reincarnation cycle, then they most likely won't recall this life, so they'll probably be judgmental in the next one too (most people seem to be). If there is some other form of afterlife, it would similarly differ depending on the nature of that afterlife. I think in most cases, though, that making excuses would either not be an option at all, or simply an unviable one. Side: They would stop judging people
