What would your blueprint be to end all forms on inequality?

There are, and always will be those with greater ability than others.
Under the present, dog,eat dog system of capitalism which awards excellence, there will be many who will end up at the bottom of the heap.
Such less able people regularly turn to crime and become resentful towards the society in which they live.
If the disadvantaged of our diverse communities could be made to feel as equals by standardizing earnings and status we could all reap the benefit of a balanced society in which EVERONE contributes according to his/her ability.

If everyone was made to feel of equal importance criminality figures would fall dramatically as those who were hitherto languishing on the rubbish pile felt motivated to contribute to THEIR SOCIRTY.

Hello Antrim:

Our founders were smart enough to know that you can't legislate equality.. But, you CAN legislate equal OPPORTUNITY.. And, they DID.

As a patriotic American, I support the intent of our founders. I have NO idea where your ideas come from. But, it ain't the America I love.

I appreciate this sentiment and I hear it often. But I don't think it's correct. Equal opportunity is as unattainable as equal outcome. There are a whole world of reasons people will not have equal access to all things. Many of those things are not a matter of injustice, just life. What we can hope to achieve is legislation of equal treatment before the law. Then at least there is institutional recourse when individuals fail this ideal.

Hello A:

Uhhh, nope...

If you want ice cream and the vendor is OUT, you CANNOT demand that he make some more because the last guy got some...

But, if you're REFUSED ice cream because you're black, even if the vendor SAYS he's out, that isn't just life. It's a VIOLATION of law.

Dude. Your understanding of this country is no better than Antrims..

So, what you're saying here is that we should create a society in which everyone one has equality of opportunity but not conformity of achievement.

That unfair system of capitalism divides society and creates a hierarchy of achievers and non-achievers.

If we diminish the importance of achievement by standardizing income for every trade and profession we will all be living in the enchanted forest of absurdity and optimistic fantasy.

Hello again, Antrim:

Dude! I have no idea how you so miserably misunderstand what America is about..

We should not "create" that society.. We DID create it and it's called America..

DUDE! If I was in charge of deciding whether you CONFORMED before you got the goodies, you'd NEVER get the goodies..

DUDE!!!

Regular uniforms are the great social/rank leveller and eliminates the ability of the class conscious snobs donning their pinstriped suits and strutting out with their never-used, tightly rolled umbrellas.

No one could tell the difference between a hard working auto-mechanic going to work from the liquid-lunching barristers.

But the truth is, everyone is NOT Equal!! Should we punish GO GETTERS?! But, I don’t like “Make It Take it” ball (Do You)? We should provide everyone with access to education (as long as they make good grades) and everyone should get Basic Healthcare! But, the material things should be left achievement based. Capitalism (as inflammatory as it is) encourages innovation! But you should not be allowed to make money just because you have money. Stock Market is really just a casino.

Only if you are motivated by money and/or power. Capitalists love to forget that they shut out from the world everybody with a good idea that is not grounded in the lust to have more than everybody else.

@;-Slavedevice. So, what you're saying is that creativity and the entrepreneurial spirit would be smothered if everyone's earning capacity was equal regardless of ability, conscientiousness, dedication and work-ethic.

Now, that's an interesting angle and could explain why socialism is a failed ideology everywhere it has ever been tried.

Maybe this could be the reason for the desperate plight of the peoples of socialist Latino states such as Venezuela.

Well worth further investigating this line of political science.

But true free market is not what we have. You ever play backyard basketball? Understand what make it take it is?
