What's the best place in the USA to watch 4th of July fireworks?

With the 4th of July rapidly approaching, I'd like to get everyone's thoughts across the country on where they think the best place is to watch fireworks.

As a DC area resident, I can't think of a better place to watch fireworks than on the DC Mall. The fireworks against the backdrop of the Washington Monument, the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials, and right next to the White House bring an extra bit of patriotism out on Independence Day.

No better place than the Nation's Capital to celebrate the Nation's Birthday.

The Boston fireworks are always great. There are free concerts, partying all day long, and when the fireworks finally go off, live synchronized music from the Boston pops is broadcast all over both sides of the river as the fireworks explode in the middle.

I thought the ones at Disney World were spectacular! I bet they are a sight to see on the Fourth!

As a resident of the Bay Area, I love to see the fireworks down near Pier 39 over the San Francisco bay. This year they're having a few decent bands down there, including Big Bang Beat and Tainted Love.

Smith Mountain Lake down in Southwest Virginia puts on an unbelievable show. Everyone rides up there on their boats, throws down an anchor or ties up with other boats, and then ties one on. It's a great time.

From my TV set...if I had one...it is too hot!

There is a little town called Williston Florida where it is still an old fashioned 4TH of July...starting with a parade. Music and politicians and lots of food under the stars.

If I go any where that is usually where I wind up.

Second choice would be the beach.

Have a safe and fabulous holiday.

The best place? Why, wherever you are at the time. My philosophy is "Wherever I am is the best place to be".

In the rural community of Casey Illinois, we have a beautiful little park - Fairview Park (home of the Casey Popcorn Festival), and they always put on a fine show which I can see from my front yard (or I can I walk or bicycle to the park, if I so desire).

Wishing everyone a safe and fun-filled holiday weekend.

Watching them in St.Louis is the best. You can lay out on a blanket under the arch and watch them explode over the river. As kids my brother and I would beg our parents to let us go early so we could stake out the best spot. There is a parade, food, rides- it's wonderful!!!

Great suggestion. How can you beat watching a grand finale above Lady Liberty's torch?

Well now that it's July 5th I'll tell you. Right off my dock, in Southern Maryland!!! How cool was it??? Very. We could look over to St. Mary's County and see fireworks going off in 4 different places. Then if that wasn't enough we could just sit back and enjoy our neighbor's display, which is worth watching every year!!!! You can't beat a full day of sun, fun and water off your own dock then sit and relax in your own backyard and watch the fireworks go off all around you!!! Hard to beat. Oh, yea, the rain came, we went inside, it stopped we went outside and just let the 4th explode around us... No complaints.

Orlando!!!!!!!! Because you can see a show from Seaworld, Disney, Universal, and Bush Gardens in Tampa. So it's 4 shows that are massive at once!
