Which Series is More Entertaining?
lately it seems like the twilight series has rose to fame as rapidly as the Harry Potter series did when it first came out on the big screen. For those of you who have read one or the other or both, which one do you favor more ?

Oh, don't get me wrong, both of the series are excruciatingly terrible and examples of how modern literature is a total shame. Then again, I'm old fashioned so I'm kind of ornery. But the controversy that Twilight has created and just the utter hilarious conversations and hate it's spawned is just so juicy. It's like watching a building burn. It's much more fun if it's a really big one. Side: Twilight
Stephen King is modern literature, and he's one of the best. Harry Potter is a good kid's novel, I liked it as a kid. I never finished the series though cause they did get crappy after awhile (Rowling thinks that more talking is good writing for some reason). Twilight i hate cause it's about fags who call themselves vampires. Don't understand it, probably something for retarded, lonely teenagers to get into. and the publicity has made me more pissed at it. at least with Harry Potter we all accepted that it's just about wizards and silly kids shit. People try to play Twilight off as some deep meaning shit. pisses the shit out of me. Side: Harry Potter

i find that the Harry Potter series is a lot more entertaining. There's the villain, which is the underlying reason for many of the problems. There's the main character and his mysterious past. There's the Mirror of Erised, which inscription reads "Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi" read backwords says "I show not your face but your heart's desire". There's thousands of underlying meanings if you look close enough. While I am a huge fan of twilight as well, there's always a new villain, always a new problem arising that is "just her luck". She always sounds extremely desperate, and when you really think about it, Edward is a pedophile. he's freaking 108! That's just how I see him though. I might have been swayed to the wolve side. (; Side: Harry Potter
I think Harry Potter is better. It's able to be enjoyed by all types of people: women, men, teens, and children of all races and ages. Twilight, on the other hand, is basically a series that I've never heard of before the movie, which was really just a chick flick. The directors probably just chose the cast thinking that the actors would draw in girls based on looks. And I only know 1 girl who actually read the books BEFORE the movie came out. Side: Harry Potter
Haha, i agree. I mean, I love twilight, but then again, I am a girl. And I've read all four books and managed to read the first 3 before the film came out, so now you know two girls that read twilight before it was unleashed in chick flick form. long story short, twilight=chick flick on print. I have read all of both series and thought that Harry Potter was okay and that Twilight was the most overrated series ever. Both series are unique though in that a lot of people who didn't read books decided to read them which is awesome. And while it could be said that I didn't like Twilight because I am a guy I would say that is proof enough that Harry Potter was more entertaining because it appealed to both genders equally while Twilight was appealing primarily to girls. Harry Potter is a much more complex world than Twilight. Meyer did her own take on vampires, but she didn't create an entire universe hidden under our own. Rowling did. Harry Potter also explores multiple themes, unlike Twilight, so there are always interesting sub-plots being played out as part of the bigger story. Example: Snape. The issues of trust that Harry has with Snape throughout the series is fascinating. Character development seems to be more subtle and complete for HP than Twilight, as well. Twilight introduces you to the characters one at a time for the most part. You learn one vampire's back-story then a little later you learn another's. For HP it's less direct. You are continuously introduced to new characters, and Rowling weaves enough into dialogue and narration to develop the characters without having to devote half of a chapter to the cause. All in all, HP is smoother than Twilight. It's a more refined world and story. Side: Harry Potter

I love twilight for its really hilarious conversations but then harry potter is a really well imagined book. hats off to both. they are both the greatest!!!!!!!! although twilight is a very well planned story too, I find the harrypotter series kinda better in strategy and less pressing on the very common issue"love" and harry potter gets into love stories in the very least. it talks about the adventure part mostly. Side: they are both good
