Personally, I think that Anakin Skywalker is the real hero in Star Wars. Between II-III, he was a butt kicking Jedi fighting against the Seperatists. He killed count Dooku, and he fought as a leader in the clone wars. Between III-VI, he was Darth Vader, but even then, he was never really a bad guy, because he was used like a slave to the dark side by Darth Sidious, and in episode VI, he killed the emperor Darth Sidious. The whole point of Luke Skywalker, even, was to help Anakin fulfill his destiny as the chosen one who brings peace to the galaxy. Side: Anakin Skywalker
We you're just biased because you're HIM. Just Kidding.. Anyways, you're right. The most important thing was that he killed the emperor. Because that was the prophecy that was foretold. That he would destroy the sith, and Palatine was the only remaining sith at the time. Only one little thing I disagree with: "Between III-VI, he was Darth Vader, but even then, he was never really a bad guy" Yes he was. He was a very bad guy. Which was the main tragedy of the story line. George Lucas refers to Star Wars as the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker. Side: Anakin Skywalker
no your both wrong! the tragady and real characters of the movies were the clone troopers. if not for the clones, the republic would of been screwed, if not for the troops, anikan and the other jedi would of died on geonosis. as for the tragady part, the clones were used like tools, first for good then for the bad, then just killed at the end by the good. who asked how they felt? sure not the light saber going through the clones chest thats for sure. sure they were genetical enhanced, brain washed and trainded to do nohting but war, but hey, they have feeling do. Wrong. The Clone troopers were mere tools, genetically pre-programmed to kill jedi when the true villain, Darth Sidious AKA Chancellor Palpatine gave the order. They had no choice. Also, Jango Fett did not Make them. He was simply the genetic base. And calling the clones evil because he was evil, is like punishing a child for their fathers sins. Side: Qui-Gon Jin

Anakin cares about his loved ones and turned to the dark side just to save padme. He helped make luke and leia who led the rebels to victory and helped him recover. He was a great person and always did the right thing. Darth vader howver, was the opposite. I know what you might think; they were the same person. Technically, no. Befor going evil and killing the jedi, sidious named him darth vader and obi-wan "ben" kenobi said that when he turned into vader, the good man who was luke's father was destroyed. Also, when he died after killing sidious, anakin became a ghost and appeared in jedi robes young. Side: R2-D2
