Which bathroom should a transgendered person use?
A pretty straitforward question which do you believe and why? Most importantly, is why!

Just because you feel like you're of a certain gender, doesn't mean you really are. Or that you should come into a certain bathroom just because you feel it's for you. Many women would feel uncomfortable having a man in their bathroom, and vice versa, that's the reason why the bathrooms are separate, of course. So they should have some consideration for other people and understand that other people don't need to be stressed and put in bad positions just because they have some unresolved issues. I suppose that after a genderswitch surgery and hormonal therapy, you'd belong to the gender you went into treatmant for, so it would be okay to go into that bathroom. Once you're female/male truly, not just in your mind, it's okay to go into the bathroom that gender goes into. Side: Original Gender
This is a neutral argument, I'm only posting it on this side because it was losing. In sincerity, I think it matters how convincing you look. If you believe yourself to be a woman and look convincingly enough most people would think twice to question you about your gender, use the woman's bathroom. If you are a dude with a full beard, just because you put on a dress doesn't mean you can stroll into the ladies. I'll say vise versa for female to male trans gendered, but any place that a trans gendered person would go the guys there wouldn't be fazed by a female in the men's room. Side: Original Gender

Post op I think they should use the new gender because that is now what they are regardless of what it says on their birth certificate Pre op should be the original gender purely for legal reasons Then again if they partied in the clubs I used to go to it didn't really matter everyone just used the bathroom with the shortest queue Side: New Gender

I think the person you're truly are inside is what counts. Just because you have one particular set of genitals, and might have ended up with the ''wrong'' set, shouldn't hinder you from being the person you really are. Especially for the men who transferred to women - going to the bathroom is kind of a big deal for a woman .. I mean that's where you have the mini small talk about clothes, make-up and men - a part of being a woman is to go to the bathroom together, not only to pee but refresh your make-up and that stuff :) As long as the transgendered women leave the seat down in the women's room, I'm happy :) Side: New Gender

think about it logically, ok? if you were for example a girl and you changed your gender to a boy, would you think that girls everywhere would accept your presence in their bathroom just because you once were a girl? of course not !! your current gender is male, accept it and move on. For the last numerous decades it has not been a problem. Why? Because if you look like a woman, you use the women's room; if you look like a man, you use the men's room. Problems solved. Don't ask, don't tell. Respect privacy. It's so simple. Let's just get back to that. If you are really concerned what is in someone elses underwear, you are the pervert. Side: New Gender
Gender based division of bathrooms is a relic from the past, not all that different from separation of facilities for Whites and Blacks. People should be able to use any bathroom they want, and anyone violating the public decency laws while in a bathroom should be prosecuted and punished. Side: New Gender
