Which country is hated more? Britain or America?

America is what some consider a "modern day superpower" and what others consider a "blackhole of evil", however many people regarded the British Empire with the same thoughts when it was a hyperpower. Though the British Empire was a lot bigger than America it ended decades ago so a lot of the jealous hatred could still be around.

Everyone country with colonised is bound to have a few people who dislike us.

The United States is definitely hated more than Great Britain. This is due to the U.S. being the World's Policeman and all that, as well as for the American foreign policy. The U.S. gets involved with foreign affairs too often, which causes other countries to like America less.

Another issue is that US culture is frowned upon by many because of the downward trend it is following.

I'ld just like to point out that America was a crap "world policeman" compared to when the British Empire dominated the role.

That's exactly why other countries didn't like the United States; the US government was getting into other peoples' business, and still is. Meanwhile, the UK is not getting involved the way the US has and still is.

Side: America

I hate JAPAN more than America. For some reason, like the country is TOO big, I hate it not too much, a little only

Why on Earth would you hate Japan more than America?

Japan is too big? Look at the US. It swallows Japan. What are you talking about?

Side: America

i dont hate any of them, because they're both the greatest places to live, trust me, i've been to GB.

no im just jokin. but the only thing that is annoying sometimes is the accents from British(please no one take offense) :)

Side: America

Everywhere I go people bitch about my nationality. Until I tell them I'm Californian.

lot of the jealous hatred could still be around.

Why can't you just admit that some people might actually genuinely hate your country for what it is, and not secretly think it's awesome?

If you took a survey I think that you would probably find that America is hated most.

Why? Well throughout history America has done all kinds of annoying things that have cost lives, been stupid, and sometimes just done really annoying things. The main reason that Americans are often met with distaste is:

America bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Regardless of whether or not you think that it was justified, many people disagree with the decision that took around 70000 lives after those nuclear bombings.

Across the globe people can recognise, even many Americans, that it was not the greatest and most live-saving decision that has been made in history. Many other military decisions have gained distaste for Americans, too.

The way Japan has reacted to the bombings is something to be admired, they don't feature the Americans as Nazi-like soldiers in their media, unlike what the Americans do to people they've gone to war with.

US. However, if you could go back in time to 1700's, it would defintley be Britain.

Side: America

I just spent about six months in Europe and I can attest that

the Americans are hands-down more disliked than the British.

Grant it, the British are a strong number 2 (and we learned a

lot of our bullshit from the British), but British are also

smart enough to be a little more subtle with their arrogance

and obnoxiousness. America doesn't even try.

We've developed this smug "USA is number 1" attitude and

we believe it, because less than 20% of Americans have

actually been out of this shit hole. Seriously, spread

your wings a little bit and you'll see that we actually

trail the civilized area in every area that actually

matters. Yes, we have a strong military and a large (not

necessarily efficient) economy, but we can't even take

care of ourselves. We're ignorant, we're thick-headed,

we're uneducated. We're like the drunken hillbillies

that came to town.

We have one of most violent, contentious, "fuck-you" attitude of any

culture in the world. If we spent a little more time on

trying to build a better person and a little less time on

trying to build a better bomb we might just actually build

a better society.

It made me so angry to learn to just how inadequate we

really are.
