Which gender would be better at handling a world without the other?
The scenario depicted in Y:The Last Man is one where all the men in the world die, and women are left to the earth to both rebuild and find a cure for the human races' imminent death. I'm saying, if men where the ones left, would they handle the situation worse or better? And how would the first scenario fare? (women)

Well, Men are more logical than women, so in the Science field (where they can develop humans) they would be better off. Plus, it's easier to rebuild women from a world with only men since men have access to both chromosomes. but, according to Chaos Theory, if it were a world of only females, they will find some way to reproduce (some natural process). But, they would have to continue on by making more humans for a little while before nature takes effect. In general, a world with only men would result in a very easy separation between logic and emotion. The only actual stupid things men do is when they're thinking with their dick. but with no females around, they will be able to think completely logical without emotion getting in the way. This is since the male brain is able to easily separate logic from emotion, causing them being able to get more thinking done. i love science XD Side: men

Although I disagree with some of your points, i.e. the emotion factor, I must say this is the most well written and thoughtful response on the board as yet...GO PYGGY! I believe the same thing might happen if you took all the males and hid them away...women would then learn to be less emotional in handling things but still have enough left over in order to decide matters in a more human and fair way! I don't agree this is well written and thoughtful. In fact it is quite wrong, off point and misogynistic. "Men are more logical than women". Is this a scientific fact? Is this true for all men? Shouldn't you consider an average? Shouldn't you consider the fact that women are still objectified and considered Barbie dolls? A female engineer with a mustache is considered ugly and mostly marginalized. Isn't that a reason for women to choose to conform to what is expected of them and therefore to choose jobs that are "less logical". There are cases where exceptional girls at math toned down their performance in order to not be considered math geeks. "It's easier to rebuild women" Shouldn't be easier to store sperm and give "pregnancy kits" to women once all the men are gone? Even if all the men would magically disappear there would still be enough man juice to go around and easier than to build Eve from scratch. i already described how the female is unable to think logically without emotions getting in the way because of the brain. the female brain has 50,000 more connections between the left and right side of the brain which causes women to become more likely to become extremely frustrated with logic. Men on the other hand separate it easily. has nothing to do with "society", just science. If there are no men, there is no Y chromosome. This would result in very hardcore gene manipulation in order to create a man. Men have both chromosomes, so it's a lot easier (although, not a walk in the park) to create a woman from scratch. Continuing life is different, but they both are neck and neck when it comes to that. In an extreme environment where there are no females, most men are likely to become gay. not all, but most. They would do things in order to impress the other male. hell, we do things already to impress other males just because we wish to feel superior in the group. So even the straight guys (who feel like outcasts) will strive to become superior. Side: men

This is really ridculous, I mean come on. It don't matter whether the leader is man, woman, or horse, they are good as long as they help us rid of global warming and not do alot of killings and wars. It's not about gender, it's about the way they rule! Side: A combination of both by necessity
Well it may be ridiculous but the question is one OR the other. In order to conserve some space I might as well put mine here. If reproduction was possible regardless of the circumstance I believe that men would more likely have less difficulty in this scenario, as they, at least in my experience, have an easier time getting along with each other, especially without women involved (interest leads to competition etc.) Regardless, I think that both scenarios would likely lead to many social problems, and even if reproduction were possible most men would still have an interest in the non-unobtainable opposite sex.
