Which is the best path to Socialism, democratic or revolutionary change?

Democratic

Side Score: 8
VS.

Revolutionary

Side Score: 3

The best way is democracy. If the people are properly politically educated they will pick socialism over capitalism every time because socialism is by far a better system for the vast majority of ordinary people.

Unfortunately, since society is being run by capitalists, it is their (dis)information and opinions which are being distributed and spread to ordinary people. Sometimes so subtly that they often mistake those opinions for their own.

Side: Democratic

This is the best way if you truly want the will of the people reflected and their positive contribution. Good luck with those who object.

Well, what do we do about the people who object to capitalism? We laugh at them, right? Call them idiots.

I don't think anything would really change.

Side: Democratic

As long as we have people as part of the decision-making process, we will never change. I wonder what will happen when Google's mainframe starts making the decisions for us.

Which is the best path to Socialism, democratic or revolutionary change?

Hello:

If one thinks that socialisms barrons of business will work as hard for their money as their capitalistic counterparts do, then socialism WOULD work..

But, I'm thinking that if the commie businessmen couldn't keep the money they made, and they'd be paid no more than ditch digger, I'm thinking they wouldn't do it..

You would?? DUDE!

There is no best way to socialism; it's a road you don't want to go down.

That was easy.

Side: Democratic

Well, this is the most efficient. If done properly it is quick and with the help of the military or military police, you can maintain the faux socialistic model.

The problem is that almost every time it's done this way, it goes terribly wrong because instead of gradually making things more democratic you are abruptly destroying the current political structure, replacing it with a new state and expecting it to essentially diminish itself when it could so easily be hijacked by the next Stalin and do the opposite.

It becomes a pressure cooker, like we saw in the Soviet Union. Internal loyalists struggling from within, and external enemies blockading it from outside.

I never said it would last forever :)

Revolutions are usually overthrown by revolutions. Arab spring etc.
