Neither really. It's all about the suburbs. I like to live near the city. I'm less than 10 minutes away from Dallas. And less than two hours away from the "country". So I really have the best of both worlds. I can go to a concert in Dallas and then go out to the middle of nowhere in the same day. Not that I like the country. Side: Suburbs

I find that the city gives me more of a sense of diversity and fitting into the society. For example, in NYC, you could be a bum on the street, you could be some freelancing musician with delusions of grandeur, or you could be a big time CEO. It doesn't matter, because you will always find a group of people who are in the same boat as you. Side: City

I live in a city - I know nobody who lives in the country. I used to think that living in the country was preferable to the busy way of life in the city, but then I became acquainted with the works of Sinclair Lewis, who was known for his 'debunking' of country-life myth. Side: City

I prefer the country. Large cities are normally a breeding ground for liberals who enjoy testing their tolerance level by placing themselves in close contact with the large number of freaks found there and trying to put up with them. In contrast, the freaks in the country are far away ;) Side: Country

I have lived in both the city and in the country, both have some good aspects. The country wins out in the end. The city has the flashing neon lights that dazzle new comers and crowds that make one feel like they belong. Never alone; but few real friends, just many acquaintances. In the country there are no strangers. Car breaks down, someone will run you home. Power out; no problem, an extra generator is on loan. Need medical attention; no insurance, the vet will see you for much less then you pay in the city. Snowed in, help is already on the way. Few acquaintances and many friends, the country wins hands down. One may not like all your neighbors, but just remember the closes one is pretty fir away. Can that happen in the city? You'ens can have your city. Side: Country
