How exactly is "classical" defined here? Does it have to be like the works of Bach or Beethoven, or can it use the same instruments (piano, violin, various woodwind instruments, etc.) but using new variations of composition? I might be mistaken, but I believe the works of Nobuo Uematsu and Ludovico Einaudi are classical, but with some more romanticized twists in their music. Moreover, how is "superior" defined here? More enjoyable? Easier to play? More fun to compose? In any case, I prefer Classical. I actually like both, but classical allows me to calm my mind and delve deep into my thoughts and my imagination, more so than with jazz. Side: Classical

Both sets of music require great skill and both have a variety of instruments that each can employ. I prefer jazz in this match up though due to Jazz allowing and promoting elements of improvisation or free flow. This allows for the artist to impart more of themselves to the music for more of a unique feeling. Also Howard Moon prefers Jazz and I can hardly argue against his wisdom! Side: Jazz

Since this is an entirely subjective phenomena, I expect that I don't need to provide objective reasoning for my stance, right? Right. Ok. I enjoy both to an extent, but I prefer Jazz. I consider it to have more of an upbeat, energetic feel to it, even when the specific song is far from upbeat. Entirely opinion. Side: Jazz
