Most of the libertarians I have met are much more politically educated than the conservatives and liberals I have met. It has also been my experience that the average libertarian has a much more consistent and fundamental philosophical basis for their beliefs whereas the average conservative or liberal often has contradictory beliefs and has not thought through the philosophical underpinnings of their ideology. Now this could simply be a consequence of the popularity of the conservative and liberal ideologies. I would think that the kind of people who seek out an ideology out of the mainstream would have to be more intelligent or at least more informed than the average citizen. If this were true it could mean that libertarianism the ideology is no more ideologically sophisticated than the others and that libertarianism the movement only appears more sophisticated because it is composed of more sophisticated people. So I cannot judge whether libertarianism is really more sophisticated but I will say libertarians are. Side: American Conservatism

Libertarians like us have to be smarter, more self sufficient, and more innovative than Libtards since we prefer to employ and create and drive our economy on our own without leaning and Uncle for handouts before going home and grabbing our welfare checks from the mailbox and then sitting on the couch and eating Doritos and farting all day while we watch MSNBC. Pray tell...what do ya mean by simple minded? Do you maybe mean to ask which of those two schools of political science are the simplest in their ideology? The least comp!ex and easiest to grasp? Or are you a liberal who is knocking them both? Saying they are both simple minded as in foolish and almost retarded? If your meaning is the latter, as a conservative independent I can attest that neither is simple minded, as some of the greatest minds in the country are either Libertarian or conservative. You should also know that there ARE Libertarian liberals. Although in this country that word usually applies to comservatves who favor the smallest possible government. There is nothing simple minded about this! Our founding fathers were libertarians of sorts. As they fought to escape the oppression of monarchal tyranny in England. It could be argued that liberals who think we need a big government that advocates a nanny state are really the simple minded ones. As they buy into the Democratic rhetoric that tells us we need them to take care of us. And that we need them to legislate Morality. And that we are lost and helpless to big bad capitalists without government intervention. This is known as Keynsian economics, after the Brit economist. A Libertarian who can fend for himself and make it on his own without leftist liberal welfare States and liberal elitest control of the people is anything but simple minded. Most uneducated people on welfare are democrats. And so one could argue that they are usually more simple minded than, say a college educated conservative business owner. Right? Right. There is a news story going around RIGHT NOW about how women make .79 for every $1 a male makes and it gets worse with women like professional soccer players and actresses who make a shit ton less than their male counterparts. This has been going on forever, even WITH regulation. It will never get fixed without regulation. History has almost always proven Keynes right. Most uneducated people on welfare are democrats. Bullshit. Welfare usage is massively higher in Red States. And Red States are always the poorest and have highest unemployment. Or in this case, supply and demand...really work, you would know why women athletes get paid far less. And thus know that discrimination by us meany misogynist conservatives have nothing to do with it. And you would know that most of those women athletes are lucky to even be able to play their games for a living, or get paid at all. Such is the vast disparity in demand and interest by the public for their product than it is for men. And you would know that the WNBA would have folded over ten years ago if it was not subsidized by the absurdly superior NBA. We all know that people like me who carve out success on our own with no government assistance and who want small government and who espouse rugged individualism, as Bill O'Reilly would say, intimidate the liberal ilk.
