That is great. Let's take it a step further and use Google Trends to map their egos over time! Side: Michael Arrington
Hey, arrington is a member of the web celeb 25 per forbes.com. I bet that strokes his ego. In fact, I found that fact front and center on his wikipedia bio. click to see Side: Michael Arrington
I think Arrington has to take the cake on this one. He is very impressed with himself, and why not? He seems to be doing big things these days with TechCrunch. Side: Michael Arrington
This is a tough one... I don't hold the whole SEO thing against Calacanis, I don't think it is complete BS, but I do think there is a lot of BS and bad practices in the SEO world. TechCrunch is great, but I think the ad on the front page says it all "Easier than getting Arrington to link your site". Side: Michael Arrington

You ever visit Alltop? Me neither. Anyway, that is Guy Kawasaki's new site. Only relevant because Guy Kawasaki thinks this debate is about him. Side: Michael Arrington

Calacanis has posted over 4,000 updates to twitter. I am doing my PHD on the correlation between ego & twitter. I will report back my findings soon. Side: Jason Calacanis

For the sake of comparison, Arrington has only posted about 1500 updates to Twitter. Round 1: Calacanis. Side: Jason Calacanis

Apparently Calacanis' ego is currently valued at $5B (and that's a very, very conservative valuation). Side: Jason Calacanis
I thought it was pretty damn bold of him when he said that SEO was "BS" and that anyone who uses it is a Snake Oil Salesman. You'd have to be pretty impressed with yourself to say something like that without fear of repercussion. Side: Jason Calacanis

There are a lot of people out there who are very anti-SEO. I think they see it as a form of cheating the system ... but hey, gotta change with the times. The internet is evolving. If you aren't optimizing for search engines these days, you're just being stubborn and most likely trying to make a point. Side: Jason Calacanis

Calacanis is worse in the "shameless self promotion" category. I think his character isn't truly who he is. The Calacanis we know from TWiT and elsewhere is funny and entertaining. He gets the vote for bigger ego because what he's conveying this character, something Arrington does not do. Love them both, and anyone here hating on either is simply envious of their success. I certainly am. Side: Jason Calacanis
